Tufts Universitesi Sanat ve Bilim Okulu b\u00fcnyesindeki biyologlar taraf\u0131ndan y\u00fcr\u00fct\u00fclen \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar sonucunda, uzuvlar\u0131 kesilmi\u015f at solucan\u0131 (<em>Ascaris megalocephala<\/em>) \u00fczerinde, ba\u015f-kuyruk kimli\u011fini belirleyen do\u011fal elektriksel sinyallerin de\u011fi\u015ftirilmesiyle rejenere edilen dokunun \u015fekli istenilen \u015fekilde y\u00f6nlendirildi. Tufts \u00dcniversitesi profes\u00f6rlerinden Michael Levin taraf\u0131ndan y\u00f6netilen ara\u015ft\u0131rma 28 Ocak 2011 tarihinde <em>Chemistry&amp;Biology<\/em> dergisinde, 27 Ocak tarihinden itibaren ise online olarak yay\u0131nland\u0131.<\/p>\n<p>Ara\u015ft\u0131rma sonucunda biyoelektrik sinyallerin \u00f6nceden bilinmeyen g\u00f6revleri ve \u00f6nemli bir model sistem olan at solucanlar\u0131nda doku rejenerasyonundaki basit mekanizmalar ortaya \u00e7\u0131kar\u0131ld\u0131. Sonu\u00e7lara dayanarak, iyon kanallar\u0131n\u0131n farmakolojik ajanlar yard\u0131m\u0131yla kontrol\u00fc ile kaybedilen organlar\u0131n rejenerasyonuna y\u00f6nelik tedavilere y\u00f6nelim bekleniyor.<\/p>\n<p>Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma, yaral\u0131 bir organizman\u0131n, nas\u0131l bu hale geldi\u011fini belirledi\u011fi, nas\u0131l bu k\u0131s\u0131mlar\u0131 onard\u0131\u011f\u0131 ve nas\u0131l ancak gerekli miktarda doku \u00fcreterek kanser ya da a\u015f\u0131r\u0131 b\u00fcy\u00fcme gibi problemleri engelledi\u011fi gibi sorulara cevap olu\u015fturuyor.<\/p>\n<p>Ge\u00e7mi\u015fte yap\u0131lan \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar sonucunda rejenerasyonun biyolelektrik yollarla uyar\u0131lmas\u0131n\u0131n m\u00fcmk\u00fcn oldu\u011fu g\u00f6sterilmi\u015fti. Ancak ilk kez bu ara\u015ft\u0131rma sonucunda rejenerasyonun sonucunda olu\u015facak doku tipi belirlendi. Ara\u015ft\u0131rmada iyon kanallar\u0131 ve pompa proteinlerinde belirli baz\u0131 de\u011fi\u015fiklikler yap\u0131ld\u0131 ve transmembran voltaj de\u011ferleri kontrol alt\u0131na al\u0131narak istenilen k\u0131s\u0131m rejenere edildi. Levin\u2019e g\u00f6re, bu ara\u015ft\u0131rman\u0131n daha iyi anla\u015f\u0131lmas\u0131 sonucunda, insanlarda da istenilen organlar\u0131n rejenerasyonu bu yolla sa\u011flanabilecek.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c7al\u0131\u015fma sonucunda elde edilen \u00f6nemli sonu\u00e7lardan biri de, gen terapisi kullan\u0131lmadan yaln\u0131zca kimyasal yollarla membran voltaj\u0131nda de\u011fi\u015fiklikler yarat\u0131lmas\u0131na yarayan yeni bir tekni\u011fin ortaya at\u0131lmas\u0131. B\u00f6yle bir yakla\u015f\u0131m sayesinde epigenetik mekanizmalar\u0131 ve her bir sinyal yolunu reg\u00fcle etmek durumunda kal\u0131nmayacak, transgenler ile \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131rken ortaya \u00e7\u0131kabilecek zorluklardan uzak durulabilecek.<\/p>\n<p>At solucanlar\u0131 omurgal\u0131lar ile olduk\u00e7a fazla say\u0131da ortak gen i\u00e7eriyorlar. Bu durum organizman\u0131n posterior k\u0131sm\u0131nda, normalde kuyruk \u00fcretilen b\u00f6lgede de bu \u015fekilde ger\u00e7ekle\u015fmi\u015f.
