Ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar deneysel model sistem kullanarak bakterilerde cefotaxime antibiyoti\u011fine dayan\u0131kl\u0131l\u0131k genini incelemi\u015flerdir.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Fizik\u00e7iler taraf\u0131ndan bakterilerde y\u00fcr\u00fct\u00fclen evrim \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131, evrimsel adaptasyonlar\u0131n nadiren de olsa geri \u00e7evrilebildi\u011fini g\u00f6stermi\u015ftir. 1859\u2019da Charles Darwin\u2019in evrim teorisini ortaya atmas\u0131ndan itibaren bilim insanlar\u0131 bu adaptasyonlar\u0131n tersinirli\u011fini ara\u015ft\u0131rmaktad\u0131r. Ancak bu soruya cevap vermek d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclenden daha zor olmu\u015ftur, zira bulunan sonu\u00e7lar birbiriyle \u00e7at\u0131\u015fmaktad\u0131r. 2003 y\u0131l\u0131nda yap\u0131lan \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalarda elde edilen verilere g\u00f6re baz\u0131 b\u00f6cek tipleri milyonlarca y\u0131l i\u00e7ersinde kanat yap\u0131lar\u0131n\u0131 kazanm\u0131\u015f, kaybetmi\u015f ve yeniden kazanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Ancak birka\u00e7 y\u0131l sonra yap\u0131lan ara\u015ft\u0131rmalarda, h\u00fccrelerin stres yan\u0131tlar\u0131n\u0131 kontrol eden bir proteinin orijinal formuna geri-evriminin ger\u00e7ekle\u015fmedi\u011fi bulunmu\u015ftur.<\/p>\n<p>MIT b\u00fcnyesindeki asistan profes\u00f6rlerden Jeff Gore, bu durumda as\u0131l sorgulanmas\u0131 gerekenin evrimin tersinirli\u011fi de\u011fil, hangi ko\u015fullarda ger\u00e7ekle\u015febildi\u011fi oldu\u011funu belirtmektedir. Jeff Gore\u2019un s\u00f6yledi\u011fine g\u00f6re, evrimin tersinir olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 bilinmektedir ve baz\u0131 durumlarda evrimi tersine \u00e7evirmek m\u00fcmk\u00fcnd\u00fcr; dolay\u0131s\u0131yla burada sorulmas\u0131 gereken as\u0131l soru hangi zaman diliminde evrimin tersinir oldu\u011fudur. Gore ve \u00f6\u011frenciler taraf\u0131ndan hesaplanabilir modeller ve bakterilerdeki evrimsel ilaca dayan\u0131kl\u0131l\u0131k deneylerinin kombinasyonuyla, ilk defa bir evrimsel adaptasyonun tersine \u00e7evrilebilme olas\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 hesaplanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bulgulara g\u00f6re, ila\u00e7lara dayan\u0131kl\u0131l\u0131k genlerinin evrimsel adaptasyonlar\u0131n\u0131n yaln\u0131zca \u00e7ok k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck bir y\u00fczdesi, ancak bu adaptasyonlar d\u00f6rtten az farkl\u0131 genetik mutasyon i\u00e7eriyorsa tersine \u00e7evrilebilmektedir. Gore ve \u00f6\u011frencileri, Harvard \u00dcniversitesi ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar\u0131 taraf\u0131ndan geli\u015ftirilen deneysel bir model sistemi kullanarak bakterilerde cefotaxime antibiyoti\u011fine dayan\u0131kl\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 sa\u011flayan genin evrimini kullanm\u0131\u015flard\u0131r. Harvard \u00dcniversitesi\u2019ndeki ara\u015ft\u0131rma tak\u0131m\u0131, ilaca dayan\u0131kl\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 kazanmak i\u00e7in gerekli olan be\u015f mutasyonu tespit etmi\u015ftir. Be\u015f mutasyonun t\u00fcm\u00fcne sahip olan bakteriler ilaca kar\u015f\u0131 en dayan\u0131kl\u0131lar olarak g\u00f6r\u00fclmekteyken, hi\u00e7birine sahip olmayanlar\u0131n ilaca kar\u015f\u0131 fazla dayan\u0131kl\u0131 olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 g\u00f6r\u00fclm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr. Dayan\u0131ks\u0131z bakteriler bu be\u015f mutasyonun her birini ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirerek dayan\u0131kl\u0131l\u0131\u011fa kar\u015f\u0131 evrilebilirler, ancak bu mutasyonlar eski d\u00fczende ger\u00e7ekle\u015femezler. Bu y\u00fczden evrim yaln\u0131zca tek bir yolda ilerleyebilir, e\u011fer ki yol \u00fczerindeki her bir mutasyon hayatta kalma avantaj\u0131 olu\u015fturuyorsa.<\/p>\n<p>Bilim insanlar\u0131 bu evrimsel yolu \u201cuyumluluk b\u00f6lgesi\u201d (fitness landscape) ad\u0131n\u0131 verdikleri, her bir gen i\u00e7in m\u00fcmk\u00fcn olan her bir genetik durumun ve her durumun belli \u00e7evrelerdeki ba\u011f\u0131l d\u00fczenlili\u011fini i\u00e7eren diyagramlar\u0131 olu\u015fturarak \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmaktad\u0131r. MIT ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar\u0131, mutasyon say\u0131s\u0131n\u0131n artmas\u0131yla adaptasyonlar\u0131na tersine \u00e7evrilebilme olas\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131n azalmas\u0131n\u0131 \u00e7al\u0131\u015fabilmi\u015flerdir. Gore taraf\u0131ndan yap\u0131lan a\u00e7\u0131klamaya g\u00f6re bu, tersine \u00e7evrilebilirli\u011fin uzakl\u0131\u011f\u0131n bir fonksiyonu olarak g\u00f6r\u00fclebildi\u011fi ilk \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma olmu\u015ftur ve elde edilen verilere g\u00f6re sistemde d\u00f6rt mutasyon ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftikten sonra geriye d\u00f6nmek m\u00fcmk\u00fcn de\u011fildir.<\/p>\n<p>Brown \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nden Asistan Profes\u00f6r Biyolog Daniel Weinreich taraf\u0131ndan, \u00e7al\u0131\u015fman\u0131n en \u00f6nemli katk\u0131s\u0131n\u0131n d\u00fczenlilik b\u00f6lgesindeki her ara durumun tersinirli\u011finin analizi oldu\u011fu belirtilmi\u015ftir. Weinreich\u2019e g\u00f6re Gore taraf\u0131ndan y\u00fcr\u00fct\u00fclen \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n bir di\u011fer g\u00f6stergesi, evrimsel bas\u0131nc\u0131n tersine \u00e7evrilmesiyle bir\u00e7ok matematiksel kar\u0131\u015f\u0131kl\u0131\u011f\u0131n ortaya \u00e7\u0131kaca\u011f\u0131d\u0131r.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"19\">\n<li>y\u00fczy\u0131l\u0131n sonlar\u0131na do\u011fru, Paleontolog Louis Dollo taraf\u0131ndan, evrimin ad\u0131mlar\u0131n\u0131 geriye do\u011fru atamayaca\u011f\u0131, kompleks adaptasyonlar\u0131n tersine \u00e7evrilemeyece\u011fini a\u00e7\u0131klayan \u201cDollo\u2019nun Tersinemezlik Yasas\u0131\u201d (Dollo\u2019s law of irreversibility) hipotezi ortaya at\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Gore\u2019un a\u00e7\u0131klamalar\u0131na g\u00f6re yapt\u0131klar\u0131 \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma Dollo\u2019nun bu yasas\u0131n\u0131 desteklemektedir, ancak baz\u0131 farkl\u0131 nitelikleriyle. Gore\u2019a g\u00f6re kompleks adaptasyonlar tersinemez de\u011fildir, yaln\u0131zca tersine \u00e7evrilebilmesi olduk\u00e7a zordur.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Ara\u015ft\u0131rman\u0131n sonucu ayn\u0131 zamanda insanlardaki apandist gibi ihtiya\u00e7 duyulmayan ancak yine de v\u00fccutta bulunan organlar\u0131n neden h\u00e2l\u00e2 orada bulundu\u011funu da a\u00e7\u0131kl\u0131yor.
