Biraz kabala\u015ft\u0131rd\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z bu anlay\u0131\u015fa g\u00f6re, insanl\u0131k tarihi Antik Yunan ve aradaki bo\u015fluktan sonra R\u00f6nesans ile ba\u015flayan Bat\u0131 Uygarl\u0131\u011f\u0131 s\u00fcrecinden ibarettir.<\/p>\n<p>Bat\u0131\u2019n\u0131n d\u00fcnya uygarl\u0131k tarihinin, insanl\u0131\u011f\u0131n uzun tarihi boyunca yaratt\u0131\u011f\u0131 her kaynaktan beslenen geni\u015f yata\u011f\u0131n\u0131 g\u00f6z ard\u0131 etmesinin ve kendisine indirgemesinin \u00e7ok net ideolojik nedenleri vard\u0131r. 16. y\u00fczy\u0131ldan itibaren d\u00fcnyay\u0131 s\u00f6m\u00fcrgele\u015ftirme s\u00fcrecini ba\u015flatan Bat\u0131, kendi \u00fcst\u00fcnl\u00fc\u011f\u00fcn\u00fc di\u011fer halklara kabul ettirebilmek i\u00e7in, bu eksik oldu\u011fu kadar \u00e7arp\u0131k tarih anlay\u0131\u015f\u0131n\u0131 da geli\u015ftirmi\u015ftir. Bat\u0131 \u201cuygar\u201d, \u00f6tekiler \u201cilkeldir\u201d. B\u00f6ylelikle, \u00f6tekilerin topraklar\u0131na, hammaddelerine, zenginliklerine, emek birikimine el koyman\u0131n ideolojik gerek\u00e7esi de, g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczde h\u00e2l\u00e2 ge\u00e7erli bir neden say\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 gibi, tarihi boyunca \u201cilkel\u201d kalm\u0131\u015f olana \u201cuygarl\u0131k\u201d g\u00f6t\u00fcrmek olmaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>Ger\u00e7ekte, 19. y\u00fczy\u0131lda ortaya \u00e7\u0131kan ve her ge\u00e7en g\u00fcn yeni bulgularla geli\u015fen arkeoloji biliminin ula\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131 sonu\u00e7lardan da anla\u015f\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 gibi, Antik Yunan Uygarl\u0131\u011f\u0131\u2019nda (Ege Denizi\u2019nin her iki yakas\u0131n\u0131 da kapsad\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in, Antik Ege Uygarl\u0131\u011f\u0131 demek daha do\u011fru) Mezopotamya, M\u0131s\u0131r ve Anadolu Uygarl\u0131klar\u0131\u2019n\u0131n b\u00fcy\u00fck katk\u0131s\u0131 vard\u0131r. Antik Ege Uygarl\u0131\u011f\u0131\u2019n\u0131n ba\u015far\u0131s\u0131, b\u00fct\u00fcn bu uygarl\u0131klardan ald\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131, ileri g\u00f6t\u00fcren bir sentez yaratm\u0131\u015f olmas\u0131ndad\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Orta\u00e7a\u011f \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131n\u0131n bilim ve k\u00fclt\u00fcrde \u00f6nc\u00fcl\u00fc\u011f\u00fc<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00d6te yandan, Antik Ege ile Bat\u0131 R\u00f6nesans\u0131 aras\u0131ndaki y\u00fczy\u0131llarda da, insanl\u0131k bo\u015f oturmam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. MS 7. y\u00fczy\u0131lla birlikte do\u011fan ve sonraki y\u00fczy\u0131llarda dinamik bir bi\u00e7imde geli\u015fimini s\u00fcrd\u00fcren \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131nda, \u00f6zellikle 8. y\u00fczy\u0131llarla 12. y\u00fczy\u0131llar aras\u0131nda parlak bir bilim ve k\u00fclt\u00fcr \u00e7a\u011f\u0131 ya\u015fan\u0131r. Bu \u00e7a\u011flar boyunca Bat\u0131, Orta\u00e7a\u011f\u2019\u0131n\u0131n karanl\u0131\u011f\u0131ndad\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>\u00d6zellikle Abbasi \u0130mparatorlu\u011fu d\u00f6neminde, politik bir hareket olarak co\u011frafi s\u0131n\u0131rlar\u0131n\u0131 da muazzam geli\u015ftiren \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131, paralel bir b\u00fcy\u00fcme s\u00fcrecini k\u00fclt\u00fcr alan\u0131nda da ya\u015far. \u00dcnl\u00fc Antik Ege d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcrlerin eserleri, Ba\u011fdat ve \u015eam gibi merkezlerde toplan\u0131r, \u201cbir k\u00fclt\u00fcr seferberli\u011fi bi\u00e7iminde\u201d h\u0131zla Arap\u00e7a\u2019ya \u00e7evrilir, yorumlan\u0131r, \u00f6zg\u00fcrce tart\u0131\u015f\u0131l\u0131r. Bu y\u00fczy\u0131llarda, bu eserleri okuyarak, \u00f6z\u00fcmseyerek yeti\u015fen Orta\u00e7a\u011f \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131 bilginleri, geometride, aritmetikte, di\u011fer matematik dallar\u0131nda, fizikte, mekanik bilimlerde, astronomide, t\u0131pta ve siyaset biliminde, Antik Ege d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcrlerin katk\u0131lar\u0131n\u0131 yorumlaman\u0131n yan\u0131 s\u0131ra, bu katk\u0131lar\u0131 geli\u015ftirdikleri, kendi \u00f6zg\u00fcn tezlerini de ortaya koyduklar\u0131 eserler \u00fcretirler.<\/p>\n<p>11.-12. \u00a0y\u00fczy\u0131lda T\u00fcrkler\u2019in M\u00fcsl\u00fcmanla\u015fmas\u0131yla birlikte yeni bir a\u015f\u0131 g\u00f6ren \u0130slam k\u00fclt\u00fcr \u00e7evresinde, daha sonraki y\u00fczy\u0131llarda dinamizm kaybolmaya ba\u015flar; politik olarak k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fclmeye, k\u00fclt\u00fcrel dura\u011fanla\u015fma da e\u015flik eder.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Bat\u0131\u2019n\u0131n \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131 bilimini ke\u015ffi ve yeniden ke\u015ffi\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bu kez \u201c\u00e7eviri hareketi\u201d ters y\u00f6ne d\u00f6nm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr. R\u00f6nesans\u2019\u0131n tohumlar\u0131n\u0131n k\u0131m\u0131ldamaya ba\u015flad\u0131\u011f\u0131 bu y\u00fczy\u0131llardan itibaren, Bat\u0131l\u0131lar, \u0130spanya, Sicilya-G\u00fcney \u0130talya ve Bizans-Osmanl\u0131 \u00fczerinden edindikleri Arap\u00e7a eserleri \u00e7evirmeye giri\u015firler. \u0130lgin\u00e7 olan, Bat\u0131\u2019n\u0131n Antik Yunan d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcrlerinin eserlerini de Arap\u00e7alar\u2019\u0131 \u00fczerinden ke\u015ffetmesidir. Ama aradan birka\u00e7 y\u00fczy\u0131l ge\u00e7tikten sonra Bat\u0131l\u0131lar, bilim tarihi \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131 geli\u015ftirirken, bilime \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131 katk\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 g\u00f6z ard\u0131 etmeye ba\u015flarlar. Taa ki, 19. y\u00fczy\u0131la dek\u2026<\/p>\n<p>18. y\u00fczy\u0131l\u0131n sonu ve as\u0131l olarak 19. y\u00fczy\u0131l\u0131n ba\u015f\u0131nda, bir k\u0131s\u0131m Avrupal\u0131 d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcr ve bilim adam\u0131, \u0130slam k\u00fclt\u00fcr \u00e7evresinin bilimsel birikimiyle ilgilenmeye ve onun bilimlerin geli\u015fimine katk\u0131s\u0131n\u0131n de\u011ferini vermeye y\u00f6nelirler. Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 yapanlar aras\u0131nda bir Alman fizik\u00e7isinin ad\u0131n\u0131 burada anmak yerinde olacakt\u0131r. Eilhard Wiedemann (1852-1928), yakla\u015f\u0131k 50 y\u0131l boyunca, \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131nda do\u011fa bilimleri ve \u00f6zellikle fizikte yap\u0131lan \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131 Arap elyazmalar\u0131ndan incelemi\u015f ve bunlarla ilgili 200\u2019den fazla ara\u015ft\u0131rma yay\u0131mlam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. \u00c7evresinde toplad\u0131\u011f\u0131 bir grup \u00f6\u011frenciyi de, bu alanla ilgilenmeye y\u00f6neltmi\u015ftir. Wiedemann ve ekibinin \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131, \u0130slam k\u00fclt\u00fcr \u00e7evresinde Orta\u00e7a\u011f\u2019da ula\u015f\u0131lan bilimsel d\u00fczeyi net bir bi\u00e7imde g\u00f6zler \u00f6n\u00fcne serer. Wiedemann, Orta\u00e7a\u011f \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131nda kullan\u0131lm\u0131\u015f ve icat edilmi\u015f baz\u0131 aletlerin prototiplerini de \u00fcretmi\u015ftir.<\/p>\n<p>Wiedemann gibi bilim insanlar\u0131n\u0131n \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131 g\u00f6z ard\u0131 edemez hale gelen Bat\u0131l\u0131 bilim tarihi yaz\u0131c\u0131lar\u0131, \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131n\u0131n bilime katk\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 sadece bir k\u00f6pr\u00fc olmakla s\u0131n\u0131rlamaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131rlar. Onlara g\u00f6re, \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131n\u0131n rol\u00fc, Antik Yunan eserlerini Arap\u00e7a\u2019ya \u00e7evirerek, bir anlamda kaybolmaktan kurtarmak, daha sonra Bat\u0131\u2019ya bu miras\u0131 (herhangi bir katk\u0131 yapmadan) devretmekten ibarettir.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Fuat Sezgin ve \u201c\u0130slam\u2019da Bilim ve Teknik\u201d eseri<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tam bu noktada, bu yaz\u0131n\u0131n yaz\u0131l\u0131\u015f sebebini g\u00fcndeme getirelim. T\u00fcrkiye Bilimler Akademisi, ge\u00e7ti\u011fimiz aylarda, K\u00fclt\u00fcr Bakanl\u0131\u011f\u0131\u2019n\u0131n katk\u0131lar\u0131yla Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin\u2019in 5 ciltlik boyutlu eserini T\u00fcrk\u00e7e olarak yay\u0131mlad\u0131: <em>\u0130slam\u2019da Bilim ve Teknik<\/em>. 1960\u2019l\u0131 y\u0131llardan bu yana \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131 Frankfurt \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nde s\u00fcrd\u00fcren Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin, \u00fcniversite b\u00fcnyesinde olu\u015fturdu\u011fu Arap-\u0130slam Bilimleri Tarihi Enstit\u00fcs\u00fc\u2019ne ba\u011fl\u0131 bir de m\u00fcze kurmu\u015ftur. Bu m\u00fczede, 9.-16. y\u00fczy\u0131llar aras\u0131ndaki d\u00f6nemde, \u0130slam co\u011frafyas\u0131nda \u00fcretilen eserlerde betimlenen aletlerin yeni yap\u0131m \u00f6rnekleri sergilenmektedir. Sezgin, bu m\u00fczede sergilenen eserleri tan\u0131tmak amac\u0131yla, kuramsal bir ba\u011flam da olu\u015fturdu\u011fu 5 ciltlik bir katalog yazm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. \u0130\u015fte, T\u00dcBA taraf\u0131ndan bas\u0131lan bu katalogdur. Bu eser, i\u00e7eri\u011fi ve sorgulad\u0131\u011f\u0131 tezlerle, Bat\u0131 odakl\u0131 bilim tarihi yaz\u0131m\u0131n\u0131 ele\u015ftirmekte, \u0130slam k\u00fclt\u00fcr \u00e7evresinin Antik Yunan ve hatta Hint, Bizans ve \u0130ran\u2019dan devrald\u0131\u011f\u0131 miras\u0131 sadece korumakla yetinmeyip, onu ekledi\u011fi \u00f6zg\u00fcn eserlerle ileri g\u00f6t\u00fcrd\u00fc\u011f\u00fc de\u011ferlendirmesini yapmaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>5 ciltlik eserin 1. cildinde, eserin b\u00fct\u00fcn\u00fcne genel bir bak\u0131\u015fla birlikte, \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131 bilim tarihinin 7.-16. y\u00fczy\u0131llar aras\u0131nda geni\u015f bir \u00f6zeti de yap\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. Daha sonraki b\u00f6l\u00fcmlerde, Orta\u00e7a\u011f \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131 biliminin Avrupa\u2019ya gidi\u015f yollar\u0131 ve Bat\u0131 taraf\u0131ndan \u00f6z\u00fcmsenmesi s\u00fcreci ele al\u0131n\u0131r. Son k\u0131s\u0131mda ise, \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131nda duraklaman\u0131n ve yarat\u0131c\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n son bulmas\u0131n\u0131n nedenleri \u00fczerinde durulur. Eserin bundan sonraki ciltleri, s\u0131ras\u0131yla Astronomi, Co\u011frafya, Denizcilik, Saatler, Geometri, Optik, T\u0131p, Kimya, Mineraller ve Fosil Olu\u015fumlar, Fizik ve Teknik, Mimari, Sava\u015f Tekni\u011fi, Antik Objeler ve Orientle\u015ftirici Stilde Avrupa Cam\u0131 ve Serami\u011fi ba\u015fl\u0131klar\u0131yla, bu alanlarda \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131nda 7.-16. y\u00fczy\u0131llarda \u00fcretilmi\u015f eserlerin, bunlar\u0131n yazarlar\u0131n\u0131n ve bu eserlerde betimlenen aletlerin geni\u015f tan\u0131t\u0131mlar\u0131n\u0131 verir.<\/p>\n<p>Bug\u00fcn, Orta\u00e7a\u011f do\u011fu co\u011frafyas\u0131n\u0131n bilime katk\u0131lar\u0131n\u0131n Bat\u0131l\u0131 tarih yaz\u0131m\u0131nda ne yads\u0131nmas\u0131, ne de savunulmas\u0131 s\u00fcreci b\u00fct\u00fcn\u00fcyle sona ermi\u015ftir. Bu m\u00fccadelede, Fuat Sezgin\u2019in kurdu\u011fu m\u00fcze ve yazd\u0131\u011f\u0131 eserlerin, bize \u00f6nemli bir ara\u00e7 sa\u011flad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 rahatl\u0131kla s\u00f6yleyebiliriz. Bu yaz\u0131y\u0131 Fuat Sezgin\u2019in Orta\u00e7a\u011f \u0130slam d\u00fcnyas\u0131nda geli\u015ftirilen bilimsel aletlerin yeni yap\u0131mlar\u0131n\u0131, \u0130stanbul\u2019da kurulacak bir \u0130slam Bilim ve Teknoloji Tarihi M\u00fczesi i\u00e7in \u00fcretece\u011fi m\u00fcjdesiyle sonland\u0131ral\u0131m.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Prof. Dr. Fuat Sezgin kimdir?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>24 Ekim 1924\u2019te do\u011fdu. 1943-1951 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131nda \u0130stanbul \u00dcniversitesi Edebiyat Fak\u00fcltesi \u015earkiyat Enstit\u00fcs\u00fc\u2019nde \u0130slam Bilimleri ve oryantalist \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar \u00a0alan\u0131nda \u00f6nc\u00fc bir yere sahip olan Alman oryantalist Hellmut Ritter\u2019in (1892 &#8211; 1971) yan\u0131nda \u00f6\u011frenim g\u00f6rd\u00fc. Hocas\u0131n\u0131n, bilimlerin temelinin \u0130slam bilimlerine dayand\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 s\u00f6ylemesiyle bu alana y\u00f6neldi. 1954\u2019de Arap Dili ve Edebiyat\u0131 B\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fc\u2019nde <em>Buhari\u2019nin Kaynaklar\u0131 <\/em>adl\u0131 doktora tezini tamamlad\u0131. Bu teziyle, hadis kayna\u011f\u0131 olarak \u0130slam k\u00fclt\u00fcr\u00fcnde \u00f6nemli bir yere sahip olan Buhari\u2019nin (810 &#8211; 870) bir araya getirdi\u011fi hadislerde bilinegeldi\u011finin aksine s\u00f6zl\u00fc kaynaklara de\u011fil, \u0130slam\u2019\u0131n erken d\u00f6nemine, hatta 7. y\u00fczy\u0131la kadar geri giden yaz\u0131l\u0131 kaynaklara dayand\u0131\u011f\u0131 tezini ortaya att\u0131. Bu tez Avrupa-merkezli oryantalist \u00e7evrelerde h\u00e2l\u00e2 tart\u0131\u015f\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. 1954\u2019de \u0130slam Ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131 Enstit\u00fcs\u00fc\u2019nde do\u00e7ent oldu. Burada Zeki Velidi Togan ile \u00e7al\u0131\u015ft\u0131.<\/p>\n<p>27 May\u0131s 1960 askeri darbesi s\u0131ras\u0131nda \u00fcniversiteden uzakla\u015ft\u0131r\u0131lan 147\u2019likler diye bilinen akademisyenler aras\u0131ndayd\u0131. 1961\u2019de Almanya\u2019ya giden Fuat Sezgin, Frankfurt \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nde ilkin misafir do\u00e7ent olarak dersler verdi. 1965\u2019de ayn\u0131 \u00fcniversitede profes\u00f6r oldu. Oradaki bilimsel \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131n a\u011f\u0131rl\u0131k noktas\u0131 Arap-\u0130slam k\u00fclt\u00fcr \u00e7evresi, \u00f6zellikle bilimler tarihi alan\u0131 olmu\u015ftur.<\/p>\n<p>Hen\u00fcz \u0130stanbul\u2019dayken ba\u015flad\u0131\u011f\u0131 7.-14. y\u00fczy\u0131ldan itibaren geli\u015fen Arap-\u0130slam Yaz\u0131n Tarihi \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131na (<em>Geschichte des arabischen Schrifttums<\/em>) Almanya\u2019da da devam etmi\u015f, bu eser oryantalistik \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar i\u00e7in kaynak eser haline gelmi\u015ftir. 13 ciltlik eserin ilk cildi 1967, son cildi ise 2000\u2019de yay\u0131mlanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Eser, \u0130slam\u2019\u0131n ilk d\u00f6neminde u\u011fra\u015f\u0131lm\u0131\u015f, dini ve tarihi edebiyattan, co\u011frafya ve haritac\u0131l\u0131\u011fa kadar b\u00fct\u00fcn ana ve yan bilim dallar\u0131n\u0131 konu edinmektedir.<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Sezgin Suudi Arabistan Kral Faysal Vakf\u0131\u2019n\u0131n \u0130slami Bilimler \u00d6d\u00fcl\u00fc\u2019n\u00fc 1978\u2019de ilk alan ki\u015fidir. Bu ve ba\u015fka desteklerle, 1982 y\u0131l\u0131nda Frankfurt \u00dcniversitesi\u2019ne ba\u011fl\u0131 Arap-\u0130slam Bilimleri Tarihi Enstit\u00fcs\u00fc\u2019n\u00fc ve 1983\u2019de buran\u0131n m\u00fczesini kurmu\u015ftur, h\u00e2l\u00e2 enstit\u00fc ve m\u00fczenin m\u00fcd\u00fcrl\u00fc\u011f\u00fc g\u00f6revini y\u00fcr\u00fctmektedir. M\u00fczede \u0130slam k\u00fclt\u00fcr \u00e7evresinde M\u00fcsl\u00fcman bilginler taraf\u0131ndan yap\u0131lm\u0131\u015f aletlerin ve bilimsel ara\u00e7 ve gere\u00e7lerin yaz\u0131l\u0131 kaynaklara dayanarak yapt\u0131r\u0131lan modelleri sergilenmektedir.
