Bu s\u0131n\u0131fland\u0131rma bi\u00e7imlerini \u00f6\u011frenip, s\u0131n\u0131fland\u0131r\u0131lm\u0131\u015f materyalleri birbirleriyle kar\u0131\u015ft\u0131rarak yeni elementler ke\u015ffedece\u011fini, hatta belki alt\u0131n veya daha de\u011ferli bir materyali \u00fcretebilece\u011fini d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnen Cabir bin Hayyan, kuyuya o ta\u015f\u0131 atm\u0131\u015f oldu ve simyac\u0131l\u0131k yar\u0131\u015f\u0131 resmen ba\u015flad\u0131. Kara veba ve sonras\u0131ndaki d\u00f6nemlerde d\u00f6rt element \u00fczerine yap\u0131lan \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar \u201cb\u00fcy\u00fcc\u00fcl\u00fck\u201d ve \u201ciksirbilim\u201d \u00fczerine yo\u011funla\u015fm\u0131\u015ft\u0131.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Simyadan kimyaya<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>R\u00f6nesans\u2019\u0131n ard\u0131ndan gelen Ayd\u0131nlanma ak\u0131m\u0131yla ise nihayet d\u00f6rt elementin yap\u0131s\u0131n\u0131n, \u00f6zellikle havan\u0131n sorgulanabildi\u011fi d\u00f6nemlere eri\u015ftik. 1700\u2019l\u00fc y\u0131llarda halen simyac\u0131l\u0131k devam etmekte olsa bile, bu \u00e7aban\u0131n nereye kadar gidece\u011fi, simyac\u0131lar taraf\u0131ndan da sorgulanmaktayd\u0131. Avrupa bu d\u00f6nemde feodalizmden yava\u015f yava\u015f b\u00fcy\u00fck krall\u0131klara do\u011fru giden bir d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015f\u00fcm i\u00e7erisindeydi. Oxford \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nden Robert Boyle, Robert Hooke ve John Mayow, eski simya gelene\u011fini 17. y\u00fczy\u0131la damgas\u0131n\u0131 vuran bilimsel metot ile birle\u015ftirip, alt\u0131n ya da \u00f6l\u00fcms\u00fczl\u00fck iksirini \u00fcretmek amac\u0131yla de\u011fil, do\u011fay\u0131 ke\u015ffetmek amac\u0131yla ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar y\u00fcr\u00fctmeyi \u00f6nerdi. Britanyal\u0131 liberaller, aristokrasiye kar\u015f\u0131 al\u0131nm\u0131\u015f bu zaferin ard\u0131ndan kutlama yapmaktad\u0131r. Hemen laboratuvar\u0131na gidip i\u00e7indeki e\u015fyalar\u0131 toplamaya giri\u015fir. Askerlerin ayak sesleri duyulmaktad\u0131r, tutuklanaca\u011f\u0131ndan emindir. ABD\u2019ye ka\u00e7mal\u0131d\u0131r.
