Matematiksel tan\u0131mlar bir \u201cTanr\u0131 buyru\u011fu\u201d gibi ortaya \u00e7\u0131kmaz, matemati\u011fin i\u015fine nas\u0131l geliyorsa \u00f6yle var olurlar. Matematik\u00e7ilerin hemen hepsi bug\u00fcn \u2019\u0131 bir do\u011fal say\u0131 kabul eder \u00e7\u00fcnk\u00fc bu sayede hayat daha kolay oluyor, teoremler daha kolay ifade ediliyor, matematik daha sade ve daha estetik oluyor.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>S\u0131f\u0131r yoklu\u011fu ifade etti\u011fine g\u00f6re s\u0131f\u0131r nas\u0131l olabiliyor?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>S\u0131f\u0131r\u0131n matematikte nas\u0131l ve nerede yer ald\u0131\u011f\u0131na bak\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131nda bu soru anlams\u0131zla\u015f\u0131r, \u00e7\u00fcnk\u00fc say\u0131lar\u0131n in\u015fas\u0131, say\u0131 do\u011frusu gibi bir\u00e7ok alanda , di\u011fer say\u0131lar gibi \u201cyarat\u0131lm\u0131\u015f\u201d bir matematiksel nesnenin ad\u0131d\u0131r. T\u0131pk\u0131 \u201cyokluk\u201d kelimesinin yoklu\u011fu ifade etmesi gibi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>T\u00fcm tamsay\u0131lar\u0131n toplam\u0131 neden s\u0131f\u0131r de\u011fildir?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Soru sahibi, pozitif tamsay\u0131larla negatif tamsay\u0131lar\u0131n sonsuza de\u011fin sadele\u015fece\u011fini d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnerek sonucun s\u0131f\u0131r olmas\u0131 gerekti\u011fini d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcyor ve \u201cneden s\u0131f\u0131r de\u011fil?\u201d diyor.<\/p>\n<p>Maalesef y\u0131llard\u0131r, bu sorudan t\u00fcremi\u015f bir\u00e7ok soru \u00fcniversite s\u0131navlar\u0131na haz\u0131rl\u0131k ve lise yard\u0131mc\u0131 ders kitaplar\u0131nda soruldu, soruluyor. Bu sorular\u0131 haz\u0131rlayanlar, sanki \u201csonsuza\u201d seyahat ederek sonsuz say\u0131daki tamsay\u0131y\u0131 toplamay\u0131 ba\u015far\u0131yor! Oysa bu toplam hesaplanamaz. Sonlu toplamlarda yap\u0131lan her i\u015flem sonsuz toplamlara uygulanamaz.<\/p>\n<p>Her \u015feyden \u00f6nce bu sonsuz tamsay\u0131n\u0131n toplam\u0131n\u0131n sonlu bir say\u0131ya e\u015fit oldu\u011funu (yak\u0131nsad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131) biliyor muyuz?
