Hatta baz\u0131 s\u00fcsl\u00fc anlat\u0131mlarda Einstein patent ofisinde \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131rken yan binadan bir ki\u015finin d\u00fc\u015ft\u00fc\u011f\u00fc bile resmedilir.<\/p>\n<p>Einstein hemen sonra d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnce deneyini daha da derinle\u015ftirerek, serbest d\u00fc\u015fen dene\u011fi bir asans\u00f6r\u00fcn i\u00e7erisine koydu ve bu sefer asans\u00f6r\u00fcn serbest d\u00fc\u015ft\u00fc\u011f\u00fc durumu tahayy\u00fcl etti: Serbest d\u00fc\u015fen asans\u00f6r, denek i\u00e7in a\u011f\u0131rl\u0131ks\u0131z ortam olur ve denek kendi a\u011f\u0131rl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 hissetmez; sanki bo\u015f uzayda s\u00fcz\u00fclmektedir. Asans\u00f6r\u00fcn yukar\u0131 do\u011fru ivmelendi\u011fi bir durumu g\u00f6z \u00f6n\u00fcne alal\u0131m ve yan duvardan kar\u015f\u0131 duvara do\u011fru bir \u0131\u015f\u0131k at\u0131m\u0131 yollayal\u0131m. I\u015f\u0131k belirli bir zaman sonra kar\u015f\u0131 duvara ula\u015facakt\u0131r ancak \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131n ula\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131 nokta, yolland\u0131\u011f\u0131 noktaya g\u00f6re zemine daha yak\u0131n olur. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc \u0131\u015f\u0131k duvardan duvara ula\u015fana kadar zaman ge\u00e7er ve bu zaman zarf\u0131nda da asans\u00f6r bir miktar y\u00fckselmi\u015f olur. Ba\u015fka bir deyi\u015fle, k\u00fctle\u00e7ekim alan\u0131ndan ge\u00e7en \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131n b\u00fck\u00fclmesi gerekir.<\/p>\n<p>Einstein\u2019in bu ana kadarki ba\u015far\u0131s\u0131, do\u011fan\u0131n i\u015fleyi\u015finin ard\u0131nda yatan fiziksel prensipleri \u00fcst\u00fcn yetene\u011fiyle analiz etmesiydi; prensiplerin matematik temsilini yapma g\u00f6reviyle ilgilenmiyordu. Ancak matemati\u011fin sadece do\u011fa kanunlar\u0131n\u0131 a\u00e7\u0131klamak i\u00e7in de\u011fil, ayn\u0131 zamanda ke\u015ffetmek i\u00e7in de bir ara\u00e7 olabilece\u011finin fark\u0131na varan Einstein, 1912 y\u0131l\u0131nda e\u011fri ve b\u00fck\u00fclm\u00fc\u015f 4-boyutlu uzay zaman\u0131 temsil edecek karma\u015f\u0131k matematik hesaplamalar i\u00e7in eski s\u0131n\u0131f arkada\u015f\u0131ndan yard\u0131m istedi.<\/p>\n<p>Genel g\u00f6relilik teorisinin matemati\u011fini kurgulamaya ba\u015flayan Einstein\u2019\u0131n temel motivasyonu, i\u00e7 i\u00e7e ge\u00e7mi\u015f iki fiziksel s\u00fcreci temsil eden denklemleri ortaya koymak oldu. Bu iki s\u00fcre\u00e7ten ilki, k\u00fctle\u00e7ekim alan\u0131n\u0131n maddeye nas\u0131l bir etki yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131; ikincisi ise maddenin uzay-zamanda nas\u0131l k\u00fctle\u00e7ekim alan\u0131 yaratt\u0131\u011f\u0131yd\u0131. \u0130lk s\u00fcre\u00e7 maddenin nas\u0131l hareket edece\u011fini, ikinci s\u00fcre\u00e7 de uzay-zaman\u0131n nas\u0131l b\u00fck\u00fclece\u011fini ifade eder. \u00dc\u00e7 y\u0131l boyunca kusurlu hesaplarla ve taslaklarla u\u011fra\u015fan Einstein, 1915 yaz\u0131n\u0131n ba\u015flar\u0131na do\u011fru, matematik ve fizi\u011fi yan yana getirmeye ba\u015flad\u0131.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ki\u015fisel \u00e7\u00f6k\u00fc\u015f<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>O zamana kadar, Prusya Akademisi\u2019nin bir \u00fcyesi ve profes\u00f6r\u00fc olarak Berlin\u2019e ta\u015f\u0131nm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Fakat kendisine hi\u00e7bir destek sa\u011flanm\u0131yordu. Anti-semitizmin y\u00fckselmesiyle birlikte, hi\u00e7bir bilimsel z\u00fcmreye dahil olam\u0131yordu. Kendisi de bir fizik\u00e7i olan ve \u00f6zel g\u00f6relilik teorisini olu\u015ftururken d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncelerini payla\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131 e\u015fi Mileva Maric\u2019ten ayr\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Mileva da, 4 ve 10 ya\u015flar\u0131ndaki iki \u00e7ocu\u011funu yan\u0131na alarak Z\u00fcrih\u2019e yerle\u015fmi\u015fti. Daha sonradan evlenece\u011fi kuzeniyle bir ili\u015fki ya\u015famakta olan Einstein, Berlin\u2019in merkezinde derme \u00e7atma bir evde kal\u0131yor, nadiren yemek yiyip g\u00fcn\u00fcn herhangi bir saatinde uykuya dalabiliyor ve keman\u0131n\u0131 \u00e7alarak yaln\u0131zl\u0131\u011f\u0131yla ba\u015fa \u00e7\u0131kmaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131yordu.<\/p>\n<p>1915 y\u0131l\u0131 \u00f6zel hayat\u0131n\u0131n \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fclmeye ba\u015flad\u0131\u011f\u0131 y\u0131llar oldu. Baz\u0131 arkada\u015flar\u0131 Mileva Maric\u2019den bo\u015fan\u0131p Elsa ile evlenmesi i\u00e7in bask\u0131 yaparken, baz\u0131lar\u0131 da \u00e7ocuklar\u0131 ile Elsa\u2019n\u0131n bir araya gelmemesi konusunda Einstein\u2019i uyar\u0131yordu. Maric mektuplar\u0131nda s\u00fcrekli paradan bahsediyor; Einstein ise dizginleyemedi\u011fi \u00f6fkesiyle, \u201cSahip olduklar\u0131m\u0131 ele ge\u00e7irmeye y\u00f6nelik olarak yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131n bu giri\u015fimler son derece utan\u00e7 verici\u201d \u015feklinde sert cevaplar veriyordu. \u00c7ocuklar\u0131na s\u0131k s\u0131k mektup g\u00f6nderen Einstein, nadiren cevap al\u0131yor ve mektuplar\u0131n\u0131n cevaps\u0131z kalmas\u0131n\u0131n sebebini annelerinin izin vermemesine ba\u011fl\u0131yordu.<\/p>\n<p>Bunca karma\u015faya ra\u011fmen, 1915 y\u0131l\u0131n\u0131n ortalar\u0131na do\u011fru genel g\u00f6relilikle ilgili bir\u00e7ok tasar\u0131 haz\u0131rd\u0131. Haziran ay\u0131n\u0131n son haftas\u0131 boyunca, d\u00fcnyan\u0131n se\u00e7kin matematik merkezlerinden olan G\u00f6ttingen \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nde, geli\u015ftirdi\u011fi fikirlerle ilgili ders verdi. O kadar se\u00e7kin matematik\u00e7inin aras\u0131nda David Hilbert de vard\u0131 ve Einstein, g\u00f6relilikteki kar\u0131\u015f\u0131kl\u0131klar\u0131 ona anlatmak i\u00e7in \u00e7ok -belki de hatal\u0131 derecede \u00e7ok- istekliydi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rekabet<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>G\u00f6ttingen ziyareti Einstein a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan b\u00fcy\u00fck bir zafer oldu. Birka\u00e7 hafta sonra bir arkada\u015f\u0131na yazd\u0131\u011f\u0131 mektupta \u201cHilbert\u2019i genel g\u00f6relilik teorisi konusunda ikna etmeyi ba\u015fard\u0131m\u201d diyordu.
