Bu teorilere g\u00f6re, k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck y\u0131ld\u0131zlar kaya yap\u0131l\u0131 gezegenler meydana getirebilirken, J\u00fcpiter boyutunda b\u00fcy\u00fck gezegenleri olu\u015fturacak denli fazla maddeyi bir araya toplayamazlar.<\/p>\n<p>NGTS-1b ise, t\u0131pk\u0131 J\u00fcpiter gibi bir gaz devi. Boyutlar\u0131 ve s\u0131cakl\u0131\u011f\u0131 itibar\u0131yla \u201cS\u0131cak J\u00fcpiter\u201d ismi verilen gezegen s\u0131n\u0131f\u0131na ait ki; bu s\u0131n\u0131ftaki gezegenler en az J\u00fcpiter kadar b\u00fcy\u00fck, ancak ondan y\u00fczde 20 oran\u0131nda daha az k\u00fctleye sahip. Fakat J\u00fcpiter\u2019in aksine NGTS-1b kendi y\u0131ld\u0131z\u0131na olduk\u00e7a yak\u0131n (D\u00fcnya ve G\u00fcne\u015f aras\u0131ndaki mesafenin y\u00fczde 3\u2019\u00fc kadar) ve y\u00f6r\u00fcngesini 2,6 D\u00fcnya g\u00fcn\u00fcne kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131k gelen bir s\u00fcrede tamaml\u0131yor.<\/p>\n<p>Bu ilgin\u00e7 gezegenin y\u0131ld\u0131z\u0131 ise G\u00fcne\u015f\u2019in yar\u0131s\u0131 kadar \u00e7apa ve k\u00fctleye sahip, olduk\u00e7a k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck bir y\u0131ld\u0131z. Warwick \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nden Prof. Peter Wheatley \u201cCanavar bir gezegen olmas\u0131na ra\u011fmen, NGTS-1b\u2019i bulmak zor oldu; \u00e7\u00fcnk\u00fc y\u0131ld\u0131z\u0131 olduk\u00e7a k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck ve s\u00f6n\u00fckt\u00fc\u201d diyor. Wheatley ke\u015ffin \u00f6nemiyle ilgili olarak, \u201cBu y\u0131ld\u0131z gibi M s\u0131n\u0131f\u0131 k\u0131rm\u0131z\u0131 c\u00fcce y\u0131ld\u0131zlar asl\u0131nda evrende en \u00e7ok bulunan y\u0131ld\u0131z tipidir, yani bunun gibi daha pek \u00e7ok dev gezegen bulunmay\u0131 bekliyor olabilir\u201d diye ekliyor.<\/p>\n<p>NGTS-1b, \u015eili\u2019deki Atacama \u00c7\u00f6l\u00fc\u2019nde bulunan 12 teleskop arac\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131yla g\u00f6ky\u00fcz\u00fcn\u00fc tarayan \u201cThe Next-Generation Transit Survey\u201d (k\u0131saca NGTS) taraf\u0131ndan fark edilen ilk gezegen. Ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar aylar boyunca gece g\u00f6ky\u00fcz\u00fcn\u00fc aral\u0131ks\u0131z olarak g\u00f6zlemleyerek ve k\u0131rm\u0131z\u0131ya kar\u015f\u0131 duyarl\u0131 yeni teknoloji kameralar arac\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131yla k\u0131rm\u0131z\u0131 \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131 toplayarak bu ke\u015ffi ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirdiler. Arad\u0131klar\u0131 \u015fey temelde basitti; bir gezegen y\u0131ld\u0131z\u0131n\u0131n \u00f6n\u00fcnden her ge\u00e7i\u015finde o y\u0131ld\u0131zdan sal\u0131nan \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131 keser ve \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcmlenen \u0131\u015f\u0131k miktar\u0131nda k\u0131sa bir s\u00fcre i\u00e7in d\u00fc\u015f\u00fc\u015f ya\u015fan\u0131r. Ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar her 2,6 g\u00fcnde bir s\u00f6z konusu y\u0131ld\u0131zda bu \u0131\u015f\u0131k d\u00fc\u015f\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fc ke\u015ffetti.<\/p>\n<p>Bu bilgiyi kullanarak gezegenin y\u00f6r\u00fcngesini takip ettiler ve y\u0131ld\u0131z\u0131n radyal h\u0131z\u0131n\u0131 \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcmleyerek gezegenin boyut, k\u00fctle ve pozisyon bilgisini hesaplad\u0131lar. Asl\u0131nda y\u0131ld\u0131z\u0131n, y\u00f6r\u00fcngesindeki gezegenin k\u00fctle\u00e7ekimi nedeniyle ne \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcde titre\u015fti\u011fini \u00f6l\u00e7meye yarayan bu y\u00f6ntem, NGTS-1b\u2019nin boyutunu \u00f6l\u00e7mek i\u00e7in en iyi yoldu.<\/p>\n<p>Makalenin ba\u015fyazar\u0131, Warwick \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nden Dr. Daniel Bayliss konuyla ilgili olarak \u201cNGTS-1b\u2019nin ke\u015ffi bizim i\u00e7in tamamen s\u00fcpriz oldu, bu tarz y\u00fcksek k\u00fctleli gezegenlerin k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck y\u0131ld\u0131zlar etraf\u0131nda var olabilece\u011fi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclm\u00fcyordu. \u015eimdiki g\u00f6revimiz bu tip gezegenlerin galaksimizde ne kadar yayg\u0131n oldu\u011fu bulmak.
