Harvard \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nden (ABD) Peng Yin ve meslekta\u015flar\u0131 lego par\u00e7alar\u0131 gibi birbirine kenetlenebilen DNA birimlerinden olu\u015fan ve bu yolla \u00e7ok say\u0131da farkl\u0131 \u015fekil alabilen nanocetveller geli\u015ftirdiler. Her birim, lego par\u00e7alar\u0131ndaki topuzlar gibi d\u0131\u015far\u0131 do\u011fru \u00e7\u0131k\u0131nt\u0131 yapan iki \u201cba\u015f\u201d b\u00f6lgesi ile topuzlar\u0131n i\u00e7ine oturabilecek iki \u201ckuyruk\u201d b\u00f6lgesine sahip 32-n\u00fckleotidlik DNA zincirinden olu\u015fuyor. Ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar, DNA\u2019n\u0131n, ate\u015fe maruz kald\u0131\u011f\u0131nda, alev almay\u0131 geciktirici geleneksel maddelerle benzer \u015fekilde davrand\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 ke\u015ffetmi\u015fler. Buna g\u00f6re DNA\u2019n\u0131n fosfat iskeletindeki fosforik asit deoksiribozu dehidrate ederek \u0131s\u0131 yal\u0131t\u0131m\u0131 sa\u011flayan karbonu a\u00e7\u0131\u011fa \u00e7\u0131kart\u0131yor; ayr\u0131ca, nitrojen i\u00e7eren bazlar yan\u0131c\u0131 olmayan, dolay\u0131s\u0131yla fiziksel bir bariyer te\u015fkil eden amonyak gaz\u0131 \u00e7\u0131k\u0131\u015f\u0131 sa\u011fl\u0131yor. Ekip, DNA-temelli kuma\u015flar\u0131n mevcut alev geciktiricilere k\u0131yasla daha g\u00fcvenilir ve ekolojik bir se\u00e7enek olarak kullan\u0131labilece\u011fini, fakat temizleme i\u015fleminden zarar g\u00f6rmemesini sa\u011flamak i\u00e7in daha fazla \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma yapmalar\u0131 gerekti\u011fini s\u00f6yl\u00fcyorlar.<\/p>\n<p>DNA\u2019n\u0131n daha geleneksel kullan\u0131mlar\u0131ndan birine d\u00f6necek olursak: Milyarlarca y\u0131ld\u0131r DNA\u2019n\u0131n d\u00f6rt harfli kodu h\u00fccreler i\u00e7in bilgi deposu i\u015flevi g\u00f6rd\u00fc. Avrupa Biyoinformatik Enstit\u00fcs\u00fc\u2019nden Nick Goldman liderli\u011findeki \u0130ngiltere \u00e7\u0131k\u0131\u015fl\u0131 bir ekibin son ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131nda, Shakespeare\u2019in sonelerinden biri ile Martin Luther King\u2019in \u201cBir hayalim var!\u201d konu\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131n ses kayd\u0131 gibi ba\u015fka tip verilerin depolanmas\u0131nda da DNA\u2019n\u0131n kullan\u0131labilece\u011fi g\u00f6sterildi. \u00d6zg\u00fcn verileri ikili sisteme d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcren ekip \u00fcyeleri, her bayt\u0131 bir DNA dizisine \u00e7evirmek i\u00e7in de\u011fi\u015fik bilgi kuram\u0131 algoritmalar\u0131ndan yararland\u0131lar. Safla\u015ft\u0131r\u0131l\u0131p kuru ortama al\u0131nm\u0131\u015f DNA \u015fu anda kulland\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z depolama ayg\u0131tlar\u0131ndan \u00e7ok daha uzun \u00f6m\u00fcrl\u00fc ve geni\u015f kapasiteli. Kim bilir, belki de gelece\u011fin veri depolama sistemi DNA ve di\u011fer polimerlere ba\u011fl\u0131d\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Terminat\u00f6r polimerler: \u201cD\u00f6nece\u011fim\u201d\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u0130spanya\u2019da biliminsanlar\u0131 bir polimerin, d\u0131\u015far\u0131dan hi\u00e7bir m\u00fcdahale olmaks\u0131z\u0131n kendi kendini tamir edebildi\u011fini belirlediler. Materyal, ikiye b\u00f6l\u00fcnd\u00fckten sonra oda s\u0131cakl\u0131\u011f\u0131nda iki saat i\u00e7inde kendini sorunsuz bir \u015fekilde tamir edebiliyordu. Elektrokimya Teknolojileri Merkezi\u2019nde (CIDETEC) ara\u015ft\u0131rmay\u0131 yapan Ibon Odriozok ve ekibi yarat\u0131mlar\u0131na, <em>Terminat\u00f6r 2<\/em> filmindeki \u015fekil de\u011fi\u015ftirme \u00f6zelli\u011fi olan robot T-1000\u2019den esinlenerek \u201cterminat\u00f6r polimer \u201c dediler.<\/p>\n<p>Kendini yenileyen polimerler daha \u00f6nce de \u00fcretilmi\u015fti. Ancak yenileme s\u0131ras\u0131nda gereken enerjiyi sa\u011flamak i\u00e7in genellikle kataliz\u00f6re veya belirli sabit \u00e7evre ko\u015fullar\u0131na ihtiya\u00e7 duyuluyordu. Daha \u00f6nce silikon elostomerlerin ba\u011flant\u0131s\u0131 i\u00e7in g\u00fcm\u00fc\u015f nanopartik\u00fcller kullanarak bu konuyu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan grup, kendili\u011finden yenilenme sonucuna \u00e7ok yakla\u015fm\u0131\u015f ancak yine de d\u0131\u015far\u0131dan bir deste\u011fe ihtiya\u00e7 g\u00f6stermi\u015flerdi. \u015eimdi ise art\u0131k aromatik dis\u00fclfidlerin\u00a0 metatez reaksiyon denilen tepkimesiyle \u00fcre-\u00fcretan yap\u0131da, kendini iyile\u015ftirebilen elastomerik bir materyal \u00fcretilmi\u015f oldu.<\/p>\n<p>Bu yeni \u00fcr\u00fcn basit ve ucuz olaca\u011f\u0131ndan elektronik \u00fcr\u00fcnlerin plastik k\u0131s\u0131mlar\u0131n\u0131n biyomateryallere ba\u011flanan k\u0131s\u0131mlar\u0131n\u0131n sa\u011flamla\u015ft\u0131r\u0131lmas\u0131nda da ideal olabilir.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olay yeri kimyas\u0131<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bu y\u0131l, adli t\u0131p tekniklerindeki geli\u015fmeleri konu alan \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar da oldu. ABD\u2019de bir grup, parmak ucuna tak\u0131larak h\u0131zl\u0131 bir \u015fekilde patlay\u0131c\u0131 ve silah at\u0131\u011f\u0131 izi olup olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 belirleyen bir cihaz geli\u015ftirdiler. Elektrod y\u00fczeyli bir alg\u0131lay\u0131c\u0131 i\u00e7eren esnek k\u0131l\u0131f i\u015faret parma\u011f\u0131na, kat\u0131 durumdaki elektrolitle kapl\u0131 bir \u00a0k\u0131l\u0131f da ba\u015fparma\u011fa tak\u0131ld\u0131. Her iki parmak hafif\u00e7e analiz edilecek y\u00fczeyde dola\u015ft\u0131r\u0131l\u0131p birbirine bast\u0131r\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131nda meydana gelen elektrokimyasal reaksiyon, voltametrik bir i\u015faret verdi. Bu i\u015faret, barut at\u0131\u011f\u0131 izinin en \u00e7ok g\u00f6r\u00fcld\u00fc\u011f\u00fc yerlere kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131k geliyordu. Solda, sa\u011fdaki modelin AFM ile elde edilmi\u015f g\u00f6r\u00fcnt\u00fcs\u00fc g\u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcyor.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Bir di\u011fer grup, geli\u015ftirdi\u011fi ba\u015fka bir biyolojik inceleme y\u00f6ntemiyle \u015f\u00fcphelinin etnik k\u00f6kenini basit bir kan \u00f6rne\u011finden analiz edebildi. ABD Clarkson \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nden Evgeny Katz ve New York \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nden Jan Halamek beyaz \u0131rk ve Afro-amerikal\u0131lar\u0131n v\u00fccutlar\u0131nda bulunan iki biyomark\u0131r\u0131n seviyelerini analiz ettiler. Bunlar kreatininn kinaz ve laktat dihidrogenazd\u0131. \u0130ki \u0131rk\u0131n aras\u0131ndaki seviye farklar\u0131 belirlenerek bir de\u011ferlendirme yap\u0131ld\u0131. B\u00f6ylece bir g\u00fcnl\u00fck beklemi\u015f bir kan \u00f6rne\u011finde bile bu farkl\u0131l\u0131klar sayesinde \u015f\u00fcphelinin k\u00f6kenine ait h\u0131zl\u0131 bir fikir edinilebilece\u011fi belirtiliyor. Fakat etnik k\u00f6ken ile su\u00e7un nas\u0131l ba\u011fland\u0131\u011f\u0131 merak uyand\u0131r\u0131yor.<\/p>\n<p>Kapanmam\u0131\u015f eski dosyalardan s\u00f6z edersek, Filistin\u2019in bir \u00f6nceki lideri Yaser Arafat\u2019\u0131n \u00f6ld\u00fcr\u00fcl\u00fcp \u00f6ld\u00fcr\u00fclmedi\u011fi t\u00fcm y\u0131l boyunca konu\u015fuldu. Bedeni 2012 y\u0131l\u0131nda mezar\u0131ndan \u00e7\u0131kar\u0131larak Frans\u0131z, \u0130sve\u00e7li ve Rus biliminsanlar\u0131 taraf\u0131ndan incelendi. Giysilerinde polonyum 210 bulundu\u011fundan akla zehirlenme iddias\u0131n\u0131n do\u011frulu\u011fu geldi. Fakat 2004\u2019teki \u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcnden bu yana ge\u00e7en s\u00fcrede pek \u00e7ok radyon\u00fcklidin radyoaktif yar\u0131lanma \u00f6mr\u00fc olaya kar\u0131\u015fm\u0131\u015f olaca\u011f\u0131ndan bu konuda kesin bir karara varmak ve bunu ispatlamak zor oldu.<\/p>\n<p>\u0130sve\u00e7li ekip ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131nda, kemik ve doku \u00f6rneklerinde normalde olmas\u0131 gerekenden fazla miktarda polonyum 210 bulundu\u011funu belirleyerek bu sebepten \u00f6lm\u00fc\u015f olabilece\u011fi sav\u0131n\u0131 desteklerken; Frans\u0131z ekip \u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcn do\u011fal sebeplerden oldu\u011funu savundu. Bu durumda adli t\u0131p, kesin sonu\u00e7 i\u00e7in tek ba\u015f\u0131na yeterli olamayacak gibi g\u00f6z\u00fck\u00fcyor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mikroskop alt\u0131nda hidrojen ba\u011flar\u0131<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00c7in\u2019de ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar\u0131n ilk kez bir hidrojen ba\u011f\u0131n\u0131 y\u00fcksek kalitede g\u00f6r\u00fcnt\u00fclemesi b\u00fcy\u00fck heyecan yaratt\u0131. Herkesin okulda kimyan\u0131n temellerini \u00f6\u011frenirken tan\u0131\u015ft\u0131\u011f\u0131 hidrojen ba\u011flar\u0131n\u0131 ger\u00e7ekte g\u00f6rmek heyecan verici olurdu. Xiaohui Qiu ve arkada\u015flar\u0131 \u00c7in\u2019deki Ulusal Nanobilim ve Teknoloji Merkezi\u2019de 8-diroksikinolin molek\u00fclleri aras\u0131nda olu\u015fmu\u015f hidrojen ba\u011flar\u0131n\u0131n \u00e7arp\u0131c\u0131 resimlerini elde etmek i\u00e7in atomik kuvvet mikroskobu (AFM) kulland\u0131lar. \u0130lgin\u00e7 bir bi\u00e7imde AFM g\u00f6r\u00fcnt\u00fcleri, y\u00fcksek derecede elektronegatif bir ba\u011fdan farkl\u0131 olarak, ba\u011f\u0131n bir par\u00e7as\u0131 olan hidrojenin, bir karbon atomu ile birle\u015fti\u011fi yerdeki hidrojen ba\u011flar\u0131n\u0131 ortaya \u00e7\u0131kard\u0131. Uluslararas\u0131 Temel ve Uygulamal\u0131 Kimya Birli\u011fi (IUPAC) 2010 y\u0131l\u0131nda hidrojen ba\u011f\u0131n\u0131n yeniden tan\u0131mlanmas\u0131n\u0131 \u00f6nermi\u015fti.<\/p>\n<p>Daha \u00f6nce ABD\u2019de Kaliforniya \u00dcniversitesi, Berkeley\u2019de Felix Fischer\u2018in grubu kovalent ba\u011flar\u0131n olu\u015fumunu yakalamak i\u00e7in reaksiyon \u00f6ncesi ve sonras\u0131 molek\u00fclleri g\u00f6r\u00fcnt\u00fclemek i\u00e7in AFM\u2019yi kullanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131. Qiu ve grubu, inceleme i\u00e7in 8-kinolini se\u00e7ti; \u00e7\u00fcnk\u00fc i\u00e7erdi\u011fi hidrojen ba\u011flar\u0131 d\u00fcz halka yap\u0131da ve d\u00fczlem d\u0131\u015f\u0131ndad\u0131r ve bu onlar\u0131 daha g\u00f6r\u00fcn\u00fcr yapar. Portatif bir laboratuvar ve numune toplayabilmesi i\u00e7in bir robotik kolla donanm\u0131\u015f olan robot, Mars\u2019\u0131n jeolojik ve atmosferik kompozisyonunun dok\u00fcmantasyonunu yap\u0131yor.<\/p>\n<p>Curiosity i\u00e7lerinde gezegende \u00f6nceden ya\u015fam\u0131n olup olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 da olan \u00f6nemli sorular\u0131 cevaplamaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmak i\u00e7in g\u00f6nderildi. Baz\u0131 erken g\u00f6zlemleri olduk\u00e7a \u00fcmit verici g\u00f6z\u00fck\u00fcyor. Karbon, hidrojen, oksijen, s\u00fclf\u00fcr ve k\u00fck\u00fcrd\u00fcn yan\u0131nda, Mars\u2019taki \u00f6rnek analizi, y\u00fczeyden al\u0131nan toprak \u00f6rneklerinde kompleks organik molek\u00fcllerin varl\u0131\u011f\u0131na i\u015faret eden klorlu hidrokarbonlar tespit etti. Araziden al\u0131nan toprak \u0131s\u0131t\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131nda, topraktan di\u011fer u\u00e7ucu maddelerin yan\u0131 s\u0131ra, klorun organik maddelerle tepkime ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirdi\u011fini destekleyen klorometan sal\u0131n\u0131m\u0131 g\u00f6zlendi. Tabii ki kimse karbonun d\u00fcnyadan getirilen ekipmanlardan gelme ihtimalini g\u00f6z ard\u0131 edemez.
