Antik olimpiyatlar M\u00d6 776\u2019dan MS 392\u2019ye kadar d\u00f6rder y\u0131ll\u0131k periyotlarla 292 kez d\u00fczenlenmi\u015f. Oyunlar s\u0131ras\u0131nda sava\u015flar durur, birbiriyle sava\u015fan site devletlerinin sporcular\u0131 birlikte yar\u0131\u015f\u0131rm\u0131\u015f. Ne yaz\u0131k ki modern olimpiyatlar d\u00f6neminde insanl\u0131k bu kadar basiretli davranamad\u0131. 1. ve 2. D\u00fcnya Sava\u015flar\u0131 s\u0131ras\u0131nda oyunlar birka\u00e7 kez kesintiye u\u011fram\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>Antik olimpiyatlarda da \u00fcnleri g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fcze dek gelen b\u00fcy\u00fck \u015fampiyonlar ortaya \u00e7\u0131km\u0131\u015f. Ama herhalde bunlar\u0131n en \u00fcnl\u00fcs\u00fc MS 54-68 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131nda Roma\u2019n\u0131n ba\u015f\u0131nda bulunan \u0130mparator Neron\u2019dur.
