Bu sars\u0131nt\u0131lara sismik kaynaklardan \u00e7\u0131karak bulundu\u011fumuz noktaya ula\u015fan sismik dalgalar neden olur. Bir dereceye kadar esnek say\u0131labilecek yer i\u00e7erisinde herhangi bir do\u011fal veya insan kaynakl\u0131 kuvvet uygulamas\u0131yla olu\u015fan enerji, bulundu\u011fumuz noktaya sismik dalgalarla ta\u015f\u0131n\u0131r. \u00d6rne\u011fin, alk\u0131\u015fla elimizden \u00e7\u0131kan ses dalgas\u0131n\u0131n hava arac\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131yla ta\u015f\u0131nmas\u0131, benzer bir d\u00fczenle ger\u00e7ekle\u015fir.<\/p>\n<p>Sismik dalgalar yer ortam\u0131na her y\u00f6nde yay\u0131l\u0131r ve vard\u0131klar\u0131 yerlerde \u00e7e\u015fitli periyotlarda sal\u0131n\u0131m ve titre\u015fimlere neden olur. (\u015eekil 1) Yay\u0131l\u0131rken enerjilerinin bir b\u00f6l\u00fcm\u00fcn\u00fc periyotlar\u0131na ba\u011fl\u0131 olarak kaybederler. Bu nedenle sismik kayna\u011fa yak\u0131n olan daha fazla sars\u0131l\u0131rken, uzak olan daha az sars\u0131l\u0131r. D\u00fc\u015f\u00fck periyotlu (y\u00fcksek frekansl\u0131) sismik dalgalar, enerjilerini uzun periyotlu (d\u00fc\u015f\u00fck frekansl\u0131) sismik dalgalara k\u0131yasla daha h\u0131zla kaybeder. Bu \u00f6zel olaylar \u00e7ok k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck enerjili olup, ancak \u00f6zel ayg\u0131tlarla kaydedilebilen hareketlerdir.<\/p>\n<p>\u0130ki ana sismik dalga t\u00fcr\u00fc vard\u0131r. Bunlar cisim dalgalar\u0131 ve y\u00fczey dalgalar\u0131d\u0131r. Cisim dalgalar\u0131 y\u00fczey<\/p>\n<p>dalgalar\u0131na k\u0131yasla daha h\u0131zl\u0131d\u0131r. Cisim dalgalar\u0131 yerin her derinli\u011fine inerken, y\u00fczey dalgalar\u0131 daha \u00e7ok yery\u00fcz\u00fcne yak\u0131n yay\u0131lmay\u0131 tercih eder. (\u015eekil 2) Cisim dalgalar\u0131 iki t\u00fcre ayr\u0131l\u0131r. Bunlar s\u0131ras\u0131yla bas\u0131n\u00e7 dalgalar\u0131 (P-dalgalar\u0131) ve makaslama dalgalar\u0131d\u0131r. (S-dalgalar\u0131) Bas\u0131n\u00e7 dalgalar\u0131 karada, denizde ve atmosferde yay\u0131labilirken, makaslama dalgalar\u0131 yaln\u0131zca karalarda ve yerin kat\u0131 b\u00f6l\u00fcmlerinde yay\u0131labilir. Bas\u0131n\u00e7 dalgalar\u0131 makaslama dalgalar\u0131ndan daha h\u0131zl\u0131d\u0131r. Bu nedenle bas\u0131n\u00e7 dalgalar\u0131na birincil (P veya primer), makaslama dalgalar\u0131na ikincil (S veya sekonder) dalgalar ad\u0131 da verilir. P dalgalar\u0131, S dalgalar\u0131ndan kat\u0131 ortamda 1,7 kez daha h\u0131zl\u0131 ilerler. Bu nedenle, deprem s\u0131ras\u0131nda \u00f6nce P dalgas\u0131n\u0131, uzakl\u0131\u011fa ba\u011fl\u0131 olarak bir zaman sonra da S dalgas\u0131n\u0131 alg\u0131lars\u0131n\u0131z. Bu \u00f6zellik kullan\u0131larak yak\u0131n depremlerde gaz ve elektrik kesme, trenleri durdurma veya tehlikeli tesisleri devred\u0131\u015f\u0131 b\u0131rakma ama\u00e7l\u0131 \u201cerken uyar\u0131\u201d teknikleri \u00fczerinde \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar yap\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. Daha uzak depremlerde uyarma zaman\u0131 daha fazla olabilece\u011fi i\u00e7in alarm verme ve insanlar\u0131n korunmas\u0131na zaman sa\u011flama teknikleri de ara\u015ft\u0131rma konusudur. A, sismik kaynak, B ve B\u2019 sismik kay\u0131t\u00e7\u0131 (sismograf) noktalar\u0131n\u0131 g\u00f6sterir.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>P dalgas\u0131 yay\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131nda, yery\u00fcz\u00fcnde ve yap\u0131larda geni\u015fleme-s\u0131k\u0131\u015fma, itip-\u00e7ekme t\u00fcr\u00fc hareketlere neden olurken; S dalgalar\u0131 sa\u011fa-sola sallama ve d\u00f6nd\u00fcrme hareketlerine neden olur. S dalgalar\u0131 s\u0131v\u0131 ortamlarda yay\u0131lamaz. Bunun nedeni s\u0131v\u0131n\u0131n hacim de\u011fi\u015ftirememesidir. (\u015eekil 1)<br \/>\nY\u00fczey dalgalar\u0131 Love ve Rayleigh dalgalar\u0131 olarak iki ayr\u0131 s\u0131n\u0131fa ayr\u0131l\u0131r. Bu dalgalar yery\u00fcz\u00fcnde uzun periyotlu, b\u00fcy\u00fck genlikli hareketler olu\u015fturur. S dalgas\u0131ndan biraz daha yava\u015ft\u0131r. Rayleigh dalgas\u0131 yery\u00fcz\u00fcn\u00fc deniz dalgalar\u0131 gibi sallar. (\u015eekil 1) Yay\u0131l\u0131m do\u011frultusunda hem d\u00fc\u015fey hem de yatay y\u00f6nde sarsma \u00f6zelli\u011fi vard\u0131r. Love dalgas\u0131 ise yery\u00fcz\u00fcnde ve yap\u0131lar\u0131n temellerinde yay\u0131l\u0131m do\u011frultusuna yatay sal\u0131n\u0131mlar yapar. D\u00fc\u015fey bile\u015feni yoktur. Uzun periyotlu olanlar b\u00fcy\u00fck genlikli olmalar\u0131na ra\u011fmen fazla hasar yapmaz, ancak yap\u0131larda yava\u015f sal\u0131n\u0131ma neden olur. Y\u00fcksek yap\u0131lar uzun periyotlu sismik dalgalardan daha fazla etkilenir. Y\u00fczey dalgalar\u0131n\u0131n yay\u0131lma h\u0131zlar\u0131 periyotlar\u0131na ba\u011fl\u0131d\u0131r. Kuzey-g\u00fcney bile\u015feninin S-dalgas\u0131 genlik oran\u0131 d\u00fc\u015feydeki genlikten iki kez daha b\u00fcy\u00fckt\u00fcr. \u015eekilden de izlenece\u011fi gibi depremden sonra \u00f6nce P dalgas\u0131 gelir. S dalgas\u0131 onu 1,7 kez ge\u00e7 gelerek izler. S dalgas\u0131n\u0131n hemen arkas\u0131ndan y\u00fczey dalgalar\u0131 gelir. 5,3 b\u00fcy\u00fckl\u00fc\u011f\u00fcndeki bu depreme yak\u0131n alanlarda bulunan insanlar\u0131n hissedebilece\u011fi yer sars\u0131nt\u0131s\u0131n\u0131n 60 sn kadar oldu\u011fu anla\u015f\u0131lmaktad\u0131r. Y\u00fczey dalgalar\u0131 P ve S dalgalar\u0131ndan daha uzun s\u00fcre ve uzun sal\u0131n\u0131ml\u0131 sars\u0131nt\u0131lara neden olmaktad\u0131r.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>P dalgas\u0131 yerkabu\u011fu i\u00e7erisinde ortalama 6,8 km\/s h\u0131zla ilerlerken S dalgalar\u0131 3,8 km\/s h\u0131zla ilerlemektedir. Bu h\u0131zlar derinlikle artar. Y\u00fczey dalgalar\u0131ndan Love dalgalar\u0131 yerkabu\u011funda ortalama 4,4 km\/s h\u0131zla yay\u0131l\u0131rken, Rayleigh dalgas\u0131n\u0131n yay\u0131lma h\u0131z\u0131 3,7 km\/s\u2019dir. Sismik dalgalar\u0131n h\u0131zlar\u0131n\u0131n ve yay\u0131lma \u00f6zelliklerinin farkl\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnd\u00fc\u011f\u00fcm\u00fczde; bir deprem s\u0131ras\u0131nda yola \u00e7\u0131kan sismik dalgalar\u0131n, farkl\u0131 yer hareketlerini, farkl\u0131 h\u0131zlarla bulundu\u011fumuz noktaya nas\u0131l ta\u015f\u0131d\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 ve bulundu\u011fumuz noktada ne kadar karma\u015f\u0131k hareketlere maruz kalabilece\u011fimizi daha iyi anlayabiliriz.<br \/>\nSismik dalgalar yer i\u00e7erisinde yay\u0131l\u0131rken, jeolojik yer katmanlar\u0131n\u0131n fiziksel \u00f6zelliklerinin farkl\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 dalgalar\u0131n katman ge\u00e7i\u015flerinde yans\u0131r ve k\u0131r\u0131l\u0131rlar.
