Biliminsanlar\u0131, jeolojik haritalar yard\u0131m\u0131yla kaya olu\u015fumlar\u0131n\u0131 analiz ettiler. Ara\u015ft\u0131rmac\u0131lar, bu kayalarda bulunan y\u00fcksek oranda demirin kimyasal yap\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 da analiz ederek yakla\u015f\u0131k 700 milyon y\u0131l \u00f6nce okyanuslarda bulunan oksijen miktar\u0131n\u0131 tahmin edebildiler ve ortamda bulunan oksijen miktar\u0131n\u0131n deniz ya\u015fam\u0131 \u00fczerindeki etkilerini ara\u015ft\u0131rabildiler.<\/p>\n<p>Veriler, derin donma s\u0131ras\u0131nda okyanus canl\u0131lar\u0131n\u0131n \u00e7o\u011funun oksijen eksikli\u011fi nedeniyle ya\u015famlar\u0131n\u0131 s\u00fcrd\u00fcremeyeceklerini ortaya koyuyor olmas\u0131na ra\u011fmen, toprak y\u00fczeyinde buz tabakalar\u0131n\u0131n bulundu\u011fu alanlarda meydana gelen erimenin oksijen kayna\u011f\u0131 olarak i\u015f g\u00f6recek olan suyu olu\u015fturdu\u011funu g\u00f6stermektedir. McGill \u00dcniversitesi\u2019nden Maxwell Lechte, \u201c\u2019Buzul oksijen pompas\u0131\u2019 olarak adland\u0131rd\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z \u015fey, buza hapsolmu\u015f hava kabarc\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131n erime s\u0131ras\u0131nda su ile birlikte buz tabakas\u0131ndan kopmas\u0131yla olu\u015fuyor. B\u00f6ylelikle su, oksijence zengin bir hale geliyor\u201d dedi.<\/p>\n<p>Yakla\u015f\u0131k 700 milyon y\u0131l \u00f6nce, gezegenimizin tarihindeki en \u015fiddetli buzul \u00e7a\u011f\u0131 ya\u015fand\u0131 ve bu durum gezegen \u00fczerindeki canl\u0131 ya\u015fam\u0131n\u0131 tehdit etti. Daha \u00f6nceki ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar, oksijene ba\u011fl\u0131 olarak ya\u015fayan canl\u0131lar\u0131n buzullar\u0131n erimesiyle olu\u015fan su birikintilerinde ya\u015famlar\u0131n\u0131 s\u00fcrd\u00fcrm\u00fc\u015f olabilece\u011fini ortaya koymu\u015ftu. Ancak bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma buzul \u00e7a\u011f\u0131ndaki oksijenli ya\u015fama dair yeni kan\u0131tlar sunuyor. \u00c7al\u0131\u015fman\u0131n y\u00fcr\u00fct\u00fcc\u00fclerinden olan Lechte, \u201cK\u00fcresel \u00f6l\u00e7ekte ya\u015fanan buzul \u00e7a\u011f\u0131, karma\u015f\u0131k yap\u0131daki hayvanlar\u0131n evriminden \u00f6nce meydana geldi. Bu sert ko\u015fullar, hayvanlar\u0131n \u00e7e\u015fitlenmelerini te\u015fvik etmi\u015f olabilir\u201d a\u00e7\u0131klamalar\u0131nda bulundu.<\/p>\n<p>Ara\u015ft\u0131rma oksijen mevcudiyetine odaklan\u0131rken, ilkel \u00f6karyotlar\u0131n buzul \u00e7a\u011f\u0131n\u0131n \u00e7etin ko\u015fullar\u0131nda hayatta kalmak i\u00e7in besin t\u00fcketimine ihtiya\u00e7 duyduklar\u0131na da dikkat \u00e7ekiyor.
