Baz\u0131lar\u0131 bu iddialar\u0131 kan\u0131t aramadan, ele\u015ftirmeden do\u011fru ve mutlak hakikat sayar. Baz\u0131lar\u0131 ise inanabilmek i\u00e7in baz\u0131 tatmink\u00e2r kan\u0131tlar ve gerek\u00e7eler arar. Bu kan\u0131t ve gerek\u00e7elerin \u00fc\u00e7 ba\u015fl\u0131k alt\u0131nda toplanabilir: Sa\u011fduyu kan\u0131t\u0131, pragmatik gerek\u00e7eler ve ereksellik kan\u0131t\u0131.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u0130nan\u00e7 nedir? \u0130nanc\u0131n ne oldu\u011funu anlayabilmek i\u00e7in \u00f6ncelikle inan\u00e7 ve bilgi kavramlar\u0131 aras\u0131ndaki fark\u0131 vurgulamak yararl\u0131 olabilir. \u015e\u00f6yle ki, do\u011frulu\u011funa ili\u015fkin yeterli kan\u0131t olmayan \u015feyler ancak inan\u00e7 konusu olabilir; yeterli kan\u0131t olsayd\u0131 onlar da bilgi konusu olurdu. \u00d6rne\u011fin, d\u00fcnyan\u0131n k\u00fcresel oldu\u011funu biliriz fakat \u00f6l\u00fcmden sonra ya\u015fam oldu\u011funa ancak inanabiliriz.<\/p>\n<p>Bilgi deyince genelde okullarda ders kitaplar\u0131ndan \u00f6\u011frendiklerimiz akla gelir. Bununla kastedilen bilimsel bilgidir. Genelde insanlar bu t\u00fcr bilgilerin kesin oldu\u011funu d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcrler; ancak durum b\u00f6yle de\u011fildir. Bilimsel bilgiler ancak \u00e7\u00fcr\u00fct\u00fclene (ya da yanl\u0131\u015flanana) kadar do\u011fru olarak kabul edilebilirler. Bir ba\u015fka ifadeyle bilimsel kuramlar\u0131m\u0131z kar\u015f\u0131t kan\u0131tlar\u0131n yoklu\u011funda var olmaya devam eden, kesin olmayan kuramlard\u0131r. Bilimsel ilerleme kesin kuramlara yeni kesinlikler eklemek suretiyle de\u011fil, kesin olmayan kuramlar\u0131n yerine daha iyilerinin getirilmesiyle ger\u00e7ekle\u015fir.<\/p>\n<p>Yanl\u0131\u015flanabilme kriteri, bilim felsefesine Karl Popper taraf\u0131ndan dahil edilmi\u015ftir ve g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczde pek \u00e7ok d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcr taraf\u0131ndan kabul g\u00f6rmektedir. Popper\u2019a g\u00f6re bilimsellik i\u00e7in k\u0131stas, do\u011frulanabilirlik de\u011fil yanl\u0131\u015flanabilirliktir. Popper\u2019a g\u00f6re dinsel iddialar yanl\u0131\u015flanamad\u0131klar\u0131 i\u00e7in \u201cbilimsel\u201d de\u011fildir.<\/p>\n<p>Mant\u0131ksal pozitivizm ad\u0131 verilen bir felsefe ak\u0131m\u0131na g\u00f6re ise dinsel iddialar ne do\u011frulanabilir ne de yanl\u0131\u015flanabilir;\u00a0 bu y\u00fczden dinsel iddialar \u201canlaml\u0131\u201d de\u011fildir.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMant\u0131ksal pozitivizmin en \u00e7arp\u0131c\u0131 iddias\u0131, daha \u00f6nceleri derin ve \u00f6nemli felsefe, teoloji hatta bilim olarak d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclen \u015feylerin b\u00fcy\u00fck bir k\u0131sm\u0131n\u0131n ger\u00e7ekte sa\u00e7ma oldu\u011fudur. Bir ba\u015fka deyi\u015fle, \u00e7o\u011fu kez zaman\u0131m\u0131z\u0131 belirli bir anlam\u0131 olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 i\u00e7in ger\u00e7ekte do\u011fru ya da yanl\u0131\u015f olamayacak \u015feyler hakk\u0131nda d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnerek ge\u00e7iririz. Bir \u00f6nerme ancak do\u011frulu\u011funun ortaya konulabilir ya da yanl\u0131\u015fl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131n kan\u0131tlanabilir olmas\u0131 durumunda de\u011ferlidir.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMant\u0131ksal pozitivizme g\u00f6re do\u011frulu\u011fu ortaya konulamam\u0131\u015f ya da yanl\u0131\u015fl\u0131\u011f\u0131 kan\u0131tlanamam\u0131\u015f \u00f6nermelerin \u00fczerinde d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnmeye de\u011fmez. \u00c7o\u011fu dini \u00f6nerme ne do\u011frulanm\u0131\u015f ne de yanl\u0131\u015fl\u0131\u011f\u0131 kan\u0131tlanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. O halde dinsel inan\u00e7 da ateizm de anlams\u0131zd\u0131r. Ateizm, mant\u0131ksal pozitivizme g\u00f6re dinsel inan\u00e7 kadar anlams\u0131zd\u0131r; \u00e7\u00fcnk\u00fc ateizm dinsel inan\u00e7lar\u0131n yanl\u0131\u015f oldu\u011funu s\u00f6yler, fakat onlar yanl\u0131\u015f de\u011fil anlams\u0131zd\u0131r.\u201d<sup>(1)<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Peki, insanlar bu tam olarak do\u011frulanamayan ve de yanl\u0131\u015flanamayan (hem anlaml\u0131 olmad\u0131klar\u0131 hem de bilimsel olmad\u0131klar\u0131 iddia edilen) dinsel iddialara neden inan\u0131rlar? Baz\u0131lar\u0131 olaya dogmatik yakla\u015f\u0131r, yani bu iddialar\u0131 kan\u0131t aramadan, ele\u015ftirmeden do\u011fru ve mutlak hakikat sayar. Ancak baz\u0131lar\u0131 ise inanabilmek i\u00e7in baz\u0131 tatmink\u00e2r kan\u0131tlar ve gerek\u00e7eler arar. Bu kan\u0131t ve gerek\u00e7elerin \u00fc\u00e7 ba\u015fl\u0131k alt\u0131nda toplanabilece\u011fini d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcyorum: Sa\u011fduyu kan\u0131t\u0131, pragmatik gerek\u00e7eler ve ereksellik kan\u0131t\u0131.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Sa\u011fduyu kan\u0131t\u0131<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong>Bu kan\u0131ta g\u00f6re, d\u00fcnyan\u0131n her yerinde her zaman her k\u00fclt\u00fcr\u00fcn \u015fu ya da bu \u015fekilde bir dini, \u00e7e\u015fitli tanr\u0131lar\u0131 ya da tanr\u0131s\u0131 olmu\u015ftur. Dolay\u0131s\u0131yla, insanl\u0131\u011f\u0131n sa\u011fduyusunun do\u011fa\u00fcst\u00fc bir d\u00fcnya g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fc destekledi\u011fi iddia edilir.<\/p>\n<p>Ancak, insanl\u0131\u011f\u0131n sa\u011fduyusunun her zaman g\u00fcvenilir bir rehber olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 vurgulamak gerekir. Buna en g\u00fczel kan\u0131t astronomiden verilebilir. 17. y\u00fczy\u0131la gelinceye kadar Ptolemy sistemi adeta bilimsel ve dinsel bir dogma halinde kabul g\u00f6rmekteydi. Bu sistemde d\u00fcnya evrenin merkezinde yer al\u0131yor ve hareket etmiyordu. Sa\u011fduyuya uygun gibi g\u00f6z\u00fcken bu sistemden G\u00fcne\u015f merkezli sisteme ge\u00e7i\u015f \u00f6ncelikle Kopernik ve sonra da Galileo sayesinde ger\u00e7ekle\u015fmi\u015ftir. G\u00fcne\u015f merkezli sistem ile D\u00fcnya evrenin merkezi olmaktan \u00e7\u0131km\u0131\u015f ve D\u00fcnya\u2019n\u0131n hem kendi ekseni etraf\u0131nda hem de G\u00fcne\u015f \u00e7evresinde d\u00f6nen s\u0131radan bir gezegen oldu\u011fu anla\u015f\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>Psikoterapist ve yazar Irvin Yalom sa\u011fduyu kan\u0131t\u0131 hakk\u0131nda, Feuerbach\u2019\u0131n \u00fcnl\u00fc s\u00f6ylemini varolu\u015f\u00e7uluk ba\u011flam\u0131nda yeniden yorumlayarak, \u015funlar\u0131 s\u00f6yl\u00fcyor:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDini inan\u00e7 ve ibadetin her \u00e7a\u011fda, her yerde g\u00f6r\u00fcld\u00fc\u011f\u00fc tart\u0131\u015f\u0131lmaz bir ger\u00e7ektir. Hi\u00e7 bir dini gelene\u011fi bulunmayan bir k\u00fclt\u00fcr ke\u015ffedilmi\u015f midir ki bug\u00fcne kadar? Zaten dini inanc\u0131n her zaman her yerde var olmas\u0131, her zaman her yerde var olan bir ilahi g\u00fcce kan\u0131t olarak ileri s\u00fcr\u00fclm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOysa ben de ba\u015fka pek \u00e7oklar\u0131 gibi bunun tam tersini d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcyorum: Yani, tarih boyunca her k\u00fclt\u00fcrde her insan, nihai kayg\u0131larla bo\u011fu\u015fmak zorunda kalm\u0131\u015f ve insanl\u0131k durumunun ka\u00e7\u0131n\u0131lmaz bir \u00f6\u011fesi olan endi\u015feden kurtulman\u0131n yollar\u0131n\u0131 aram\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. \u00d6l\u00fcm, anlams\u0131zl\u0131k, \u00f6zg\u00fcrl\u00fck ve mutlak yaln\u0131zl\u0131k d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncelerine e\u015flik eden endi\u015feyi her insan ya\u015far ve i\u015fte din de insanl\u0131\u011f\u0131n varolu\u015f endi\u015fesini da\u011f\u0131tma y\u00f6n\u00fcndeki ba\u015fl\u0131ca \u00e7abas\u0131 olarak ortaya \u00e7\u0131km\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNeticede dini inanc\u0131n her zaman her yerde g\u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcr olu\u015fu, varolu\u015f endi\u015fesinin her zaman her yerde g\u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcr olmas\u0131ndand\u0131r. Bu nedenle tanr\u0131lar taraf\u0131ndan yarat\u0131lm\u0131\u015f olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z, biraz huzur bulabilmek u\u011fruna bizim tanr\u0131lar\u0131 yaratm\u0131\u015f oldu\u011fumuz \u00e7ok a\u00e7\u0131kt\u0131r. \u00dcstelik de filozoflar\u0131n s\u00fcrekli tekrarlad\u0131klar\u0131 gibi, kendi suretimizde yaratm\u0131\u015f\u0131zd\u0131r tanr\u0131lar\u0131. 2500 y\u0131l \u00f6ncesinin Sokrates \u00f6ncesi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcrlerinden Ksenophanes demi\u015fti ki: aslan d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnebilseydi, tanr\u0131lar\u0131n da yelesi olur, tanr\u0131lar da k\u00fckrerdi.\u201d<sup>(2)<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Ayr\u0131ca, bir k\u0131s\u0131rd\u00f6ng\u00fc hatas\u0131n\u0131n da bu ba\u015fl\u0131k alt\u0131nda de\u011ferlendirilebilece\u011fini d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcyorum. \u015e\u00f6yle ki, Tanr\u0131\u2019ya inanan bir ki\u015fi Tanr\u0131\u2019n\u0131n var olmas\u0131 gerekti\u011fini, \u00e7\u00fcnk\u00fc kutsal kitaplarda b\u00f6yle yazd\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 s\u00f6yler. Bu ki\u015fiye kutsal kitaplarda yaz\u0131lanlar\u0131n do\u011fru oldu\u011fundan nas\u0131l emin oldu\u011fu sorulunca da, bu kitaplar\u0131n Tanr\u0131\u2019n\u0131n kitab\u0131 oldu\u011fu cevab\u0131n\u0131 verirse, yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 kan\u0131tlama, \u201ck\u0131s\u0131r d\u00f6ng\u00fcsel kan\u0131tlama\u201d olarak adland\u0131r\u0131l\u0131r. Bu t\u00fcr bir kan\u0131tlama ge\u00e7erli de\u011fildir, \u00e7\u00fcnk\u00fc kan\u0131tlanmaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131lan \u015fey daha ba\u015ftan kabul edilmi\u015ftir.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Pragmatik gerek\u00e7eler<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong>Pragmatizm, kabaca bir tan\u0131mla, d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncelerin sadece i\u015fe yarad\u0131klar\u0131nda ger\u00e7ek oldu\u011funu \u00f6ne s\u00fcren felsefi bir yakla\u015f\u0131md\u0131r. Pragmatizme g\u00f6re, bize yararl\u0131 olan her \u00f6nermeyi do\u011fru diye nitelemek gerekir. Pragmatistler i\u00e7in do\u011fruluk, yararl\u0131l\u0131kt\u0131r. James, \u201cinanma iste\u011fi\u201d ba\u015fl\u0131kl\u0131 denemesinde, arzular\u0131m\u0131z\u0131n, duygular\u0131m\u0131z\u0131n ve \u00e7\u0131karlar\u0131m\u0131z\u0131n inand\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z \u015feyi etkilemesine izin verebilece\u011fimizi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcr. B\u00f6ylece, bilimsel olarak desteklenemeyen inan\u00e7lar\u0131 savunmaya hakk\u0131m\u0131z olacakt\u0131r. Ona g\u00f6re bu t\u00fcr d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnceler bilim \u00f6tesine ge\u00e7mekle birlikte ak\u0131l d\u0131\u015f\u0131 say\u0131lamaz. O halde, pragmatik ilkeler a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan Tanr\u0131 varsay\u0131m\u0131 tatmin edici bir bi\u00e7imde i\u015fe yar\u0131yorsa, do\u011fru demektir. Benzer t\u00fcrden pragmatik bir de\u011ferlendirmeyi Dostoyevski \u00fcnl\u00fc \u201cKaramazof Karde\u015fler\u201d roman\u0131nda \u00e7ok veciz bir \u015fekilde ifade eder:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTanr\u0131 yoksa her \u015fey mubah olur.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tabii ki pek \u00e7ok d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcr bu yararl\u0131l\u0131k ve do\u011fruluk aras\u0131ndaki \u00f6zde\u015fle\u015ftirmeye kat\u0131lmam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Yararl\u0131l\u0131\u011fa, neden k\u0131sa yoldan do\u011fruluk demek gerekti\u011fini anlamak m\u00fcmk\u00fcn de\u011fildir. Dinsel inan\u00e7lar\u0131n ya\u015fam zorluklar\u0131na kar\u015f\u0131 bir dayanma g\u00fcc\u00fc verdi\u011fi, insanlar \u00fczerinde yat\u0131\u015ft\u0131r\u0131c\u0131 bir etkisi oldu\u011fu veya ki\u015fileri dizginledi\u011fi muhakkakt\u0131r; fakat bu \u00f6zellikleriyle dinsel inan\u00e7lar\u0131n kendi do\u011fruluklar\u0131n\u0131 da kan\u0131tlad\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 s\u00f6ylemek apayr\u0131 bir \u015feydir.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Ereksellik kan\u0131t\u0131 (teleolojik kan\u0131t)<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong>Teleolojik s\u00f6zc\u00fc\u011f\u00fc, Yunancada erek (ama\u00e7) anlam\u0131na gelen \u201ctelos\u201d s\u00f6zc\u00fc\u011f\u00fcnden t\u00fcretilmi\u015ftir. Bu kan\u0131t \u201cerekbilimsel kan\u0131t\u201d veya \u201ctasar\u0131m kan\u0131t\u0131\u201d olarak da bilinir. Bu kan\u0131t\u0131n, Tanr\u0131\u2019n\u0131n var oldu\u011funa ili\u015fkin \u00f6ne s\u00fcr\u00fclen kan\u0131tlar i\u00e7inde en g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fcs\u00fc oldu\u011fu kabul edilir. Bu kan\u0131t\u0131n ana tezi, evrenin bilin\u00e7li bir erekselli\u011fin varl\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 g\u00f6sterdi\u011fidir.<\/p>\n<p>Bu kan\u0131t dikkatimizi canl\u0131lardaki organlara \u00e7eker: Organlar\u0131n belli bir i\u015flevi yerine getirmek \u00fczere d\u00fczenleni\u015flerindeki ancak mucizevi diyebilece\u011fimiz uyuma bakarak, bunun arkas\u0131nda bir erek olmas\u0131 gerekti\u011fini iddia eder. Bu ola\u011fan\u00fcst\u00fc uyum ve d\u00fczen salt bir rastlant\u0131 sonucu olamaz; bunun gerisinde bilin\u00e7li, bilgili ve bir amac\u0131 olan do\u011fa\u00fcst\u00fc bir varl\u0131k (yani Tanr\u0131) olmal\u0131d\u0131r sonucunu \u00e7\u0131kar\u0131r. Bu kan\u0131t\u0131n savunucular\u0131, 18. y\u00fczy\u0131l teologlar\u0131ndan William Paley\u2019in \u00fcnl\u00fc saat analojisini s\u0131kl\u0131kla dile getirirler: Nas\u0131l ki bir saate bakar bakmaz onun bir saat\u00e7i taraf\u0131ndan imal edilmi\u015f oldu\u011funu s\u00f6yl\u00fcyorsak, bir g\u00f6ze bakt\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131zda da onun bir ilahi saat\u00e7i taraf\u0131ndan yarat\u0131lm\u0131\u015f olmas\u0131 gerekti\u011fini s\u00f6ylemeliyiz.<\/p>\n<p>Ereksellik kan\u0131t\u0131na en b\u00fcy\u00fck darbeyi 19. y\u00fczy\u0131l ortas\u0131nda Darwin vurmu\u015ftur. Darwin\u2019in evrim kuram\u0131 do\u011fan\u0131n nas\u0131l ve neden bir ereksellik sergiliyor gibi g\u00f6r\u00fcnd\u00fc\u011f\u00fcne ili\u015fkin son derece tatmink\u00e2r ve bilimsel bir a\u00e7\u0131klama getirir. Bu a\u00e7\u0131klamada art\u0131k Tanr\u0131 gibi do\u011fa\u00fcst\u00fc bir varl\u0131\u011fa ihtiya\u00e7 yoktur. Evrim kuram\u0131n\u0131n temel kavram\u0131 \u201cdo\u011fal se\u00e7ilim\u201ddir. \u015eimdi bu kavram\u0131 k\u0131saca a\u00e7\u0131klamaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015fal\u0131m:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvrim nas\u0131l meydana geliyor? Darwin\u2019in bu soruya verdi\u011fi yan\u0131t \u2018do\u011fal se\u00e7ilim yoluyla\u2019 idi. Darwin bir t\u00fcr\u00fcn bireyleri aras\u0131nda daima farkl\u0131l\u0131klar oldu\u011funu g\u00f6rm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fc. Baz\u0131lar\u0131 daha iri, daha kal\u0131n k\u00fcrkl\u00fc ya da daha uzun bacakl\u0131yd\u0131. Ya\u015fam sava\u015f\u0131nda hangi bireylerin hayatta kalaca\u011f\u0131 bir \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcde \u015fansa ba\u011fl\u0131yd\u0131 ama bireyin \u00f6zellikleri de bazen i\u015fe kar\u0131\u015f\u0131yor olmal\u0131yd\u0131. Daha uzun bacakl\u0131 bir hayvan daha h\u0131zl\u0131 ko\u015far, dolay\u0131s\u0131yla d\u00fc\u015fmanlar\u0131ndan ka\u00e7abilir. Daha kal\u0131n k\u00fcrkl\u00fc bir hayvan so\u011fuk k\u0131\u015f g\u00fcnlerini atlatabilir.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYaln\u0131zca hayatta kalanlar\u0131n yavrulama \u015fans\u0131 vard\u0131r. Kal\u0131t\u0131m i\u015fte bu noktada \u00f6nem kazan\u0131r. Deizmde \u201cki\u015fisellik\u201d kavram\u0131 yoktur, yani Tanr\u0131 \u201cki\u015fi\u201d olarak d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclemez, ki\u015filik \u00f6zelli\u011fi ta\u015f\u0131maz, nitelikleri bilinemez.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Panteizm<\/strong> (t\u00fcmtanr\u0131c\u0131l\u0131k): S\u00f6zc\u00fck olarak \u201cher \u015fey Tanr\u0131\u2019d\u0131r\u201d anlam\u0131na gelir. Tanr\u0131\u2019n\u0131n her \u015feyin \u00f6zsel bir niteli\u011fi oldu\u011fu g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015f\u00fcd\u00fcr, Tanr\u0131\u2019n\u0131n evrenle \u00f6zde\u015f oldu\u011fu \u00f6\u011fretisidir. Bu \u00f6\u011fretide tek ger\u00e7ek varl\u0131k Tanr\u0131\u2019d\u0131r, evren onun bir t\u00fcrevidir; dolay\u0131s\u0131yla Tanr\u0131 ve evren bir ve ayn\u0131 \u015feydir. Tanr\u0131 evrenin d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda de\u011fildir, fakat bu evrende de de\u011fildir.
