Her iki devrim de evrensel \u00f6neme sahiptir. Paris Kom\u00fcn\u00fc, Birinci Enternasyonal\u2019in (Uluslararas\u0131 \u0130\u015f\u00e7i Birli\u011fi), \u015foven milliyet\u00e7ili\u011fi, sermayenin kozmopolitizmini ve ge\u00e7mi\u015fin cemaat\u00e7i\/kom\u00fcniter kimliklerini ikame etmek \u00fczere yapt\u0131\u011f\u0131 \u201cproleter\u201d enternasyonalizmi \u00e7a\u011fr\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 ete kemi\u011fe b\u00fcr\u00fcnd\u00fcrm\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr. Bunun nedeni, \u0130ngiliz kapitalizminin d\u0131\u015f yay\u0131lmayla elde etti\u011fi k\u00e2rlara yaslanmas\u0131yd\u0131. 17. y\u00fczy\u0131la dayanan \u0130rlanda\u2019n\u0131n s\u00f6m\u00fcrgele\u015ftirilmesinin -\u0130rlanda k\u00f6yl\u00fclerinin \u0130ngiliz toprak a\u011falar\u0131n\u0131n yarar\u0131na m\u00fclks\u00fczle\u015ftirilmesinin-, her ne kadar (Engels\u2019in tahlil etti\u011fi gibi) \u0130ngiliz i\u015f\u00e7ilerin kendileri de korkun\u00e7 bir yoksulla\u015fman\u0131n kurban\u0131 olsalar da, \u0130ngiliz i\u015f\u00e7i s\u0131n\u0131f\u0131n\u0131n siyasal olgunla\u015fmas\u0131 \u00fczerinde y\u0131k\u0131c\u0131 etkileri olmu\u015ftu. Bu durum, erken d\u00f6nemde \u0130ngiliz i\u015f\u00e7i s\u0131n\u0131f\u0131n\u0131n emperyalizm yanl\u0131s\u0131 ideolojiye verdi\u011fi deste\u011fi a\u00e7\u0131klamaktad\u0131r. Kuzey Amerika\u2019n\u0131n ve hepsinden \u00f6te Hindistan\u2019\u0131n s\u00f6m\u00fcrgele\u015ftirilmesi, bu yoldan sapmadan sorumludur.<br \/>\nBunun aksine, her ne kadar g\u00f6rkemli bir s\u00f6m\u00fcrge olan Saint-Domingue (Haiti) merkantilist birikim a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131ndan ink\u00e2r edilemez bir rol oynam\u0131\u015fsa da, Fransa\u2019da kapitalizmin geli\u015fimi \u00e7ok daha \u201ci\u00e7 piyasa\u201d merkezli olagelmi\u015fti. Bu bak\u0131mdan, Frans\u0131z Devrimi\u2019nin, Cromwell\u2019den 1688 \u201c\u015eanl\u0131 Devrim\u201dine dek \u0130ngiliz devrimlerine k\u0131yasla neden daha radikal bir tabiata sahip oldu\u011funu anlamak da m\u00fcmk\u00fcnd\u00fcr. Paris Kom\u00fcn\u00fc, Avrupa\u2019n\u0131n ba\u015fka herhangi bir yerinde de\u011fil, fakat Fransa\u2019da olanakl\u0131yd\u0131. Kapitalist ger\u00e7ekliklere ili\u015fkin devasa yan\u0131lsamalara dayanan bu hareketler, olumlu denebilecek hi\u00e7bir sonu\u00e7 vermemi\u015ftir.
