Deprem b\u00f6lgede geni\u015f bir alanda hissedildi. Depremin K\u0131br\u0131s Adas\u0131\u2019na en yak\u0131n yeri 40 km&#8217;dir. Deprem Lefke&#8217;ye 90 km, G\u00fczelyurt&#8217;a 96 km, Girne&#8217;ye 130 km, Anamur&#8217;a 116 km, Alanya&#8217;ya 138 km uzaktad\u0131r. Bu uzakl\u0131klardaki yerle\u015fimlerde deprem hissedilmi\u015ftir. Depremin tsunami olu\u015fturma olas\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 olmakla birlikte k\u0131y\u0131larda herhangi bir g\u00f6zlem rapor edilmemi\u015ftir. Bunun nedeni deprem s\u0131ras\u0131nda olu\u015fan fay\u0131n deniz taban\u0131nda belirgin bir k\u0131r\u0131lma yaratmamas\u0131 olabilir.<br \/>\nAfrika Levhas\u0131\u2019n\u0131n K\u0131br\u0131s-Rodos Yay\u0131 civar\u0131nda Anadolu Levhas\u0131\u2019na biti\u015fti\u011fi yerde yerkabu\u011funda artan gerilimin (stres) olu\u015fturdu\u011fu bindirme fayl\u0131 (ters fay) bir deprem. 5 Ocak 2022 tarihinde saat 06:21\u2019de ayn\u0131 yay \u00fczerinde, bindirme t\u00fcr\u00fc bir ba\u015fka faylanma ile 65 km derinlikte moment b\u00fcy\u00fckl\u00fc\u011f\u00fc 5.1 (EMSC) olan bir deprem olmu\u015ftu. Do\u011fu Akdeniz ve \u00e7evresinde tektonik levha (yerkabu\u011fu) hareket y\u00f6nleri ve hareket h\u0131zlar\u0131 (milimetre\/y\u0131l).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Afrika Levhas\u0131 (Nubia) ve Arap Levhas\u0131, Anadolu Levhas\u0131\u2019na do\u011fru ortalama 10 milimetre\/y\u0131l h\u0131zla hareket ediyor ve Anadolu Levhas\u0131\u2019n\u0131 s\u0131k\u0131\u015ft\u0131r\u0131yor (\u015eekil 1). Afrika Levhas\u0131\u2019n\u0131n ve Arap Levhas\u0131\u2019n\u0131n kuzeye do\u011fru bu hareketi nedeniyle Anadolu Levhas\u0131\u2019nda b\u00fcy\u00fck faylar ve k\u0131r\u0131klar olu\u015fuyor. T\u00fcrkiye ve yak\u0131n \u00e7evresinde Kuzey Anadolu Fay\u0131 ve Do\u011fu Anadolu Fay\u0131 bu s\u0131k\u0131\u015ft\u0131rman\u0131n ana \u00fcr\u00fcnleri olarak ortaya \u00e7\u0131k\u0131yor. Veriler Kandilli Rasathanesi ve Deprem Ara\u015ft\u0131rma Enstit\u00fcs\u00fc\u2019nden al\u0131nm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Akdeniz taban\u0131ndaki Afrika Levhas\u0131\u2019n\u0131n uzant\u0131s\u0131n\u0131n Anadolu Levhas\u0131\u2019n\u0131n alt\u0131na dalmaya ba\u015flad\u0131\u011f\u0131 hat Girit ve K\u0131br\u0131s Yay\u0131 olarak adland\u0131r\u0131l\u0131yor. Bu dalan yerkabu\u011fu par\u00e7as\u0131 \u00fczerinde \u00e7e\u015fitli b\u00fcy\u00fckl\u00fcklerde ve derinliklerde depremler oluyor. Afrika Levhas\u0131 yerin \u00e7ok s\u0131cak ma\u011fma ortam\u0131 (manto) i\u00e7erisinde 200 km derinliklere kadar ula\u015fabiliyor ve bu nedenle derin depremler yarat\u0131yor (\u015eekil 3 ve \u015eekil 4). Bu depremin faylanma yap\u0131s\u0131 bindirme fay\u0131 (ters fay) olarak bulunmu\u015ftur. Afrika Levhas\u0131\u2019n\u0131n s\u0131k\u0131\u015ft\u0131rmas\u0131n\u0131n yaratt\u0131\u011f\u0131 gerilimin K\u0131br\u0131s Yay\u0131\u2019nda 6.6 b\u00fcy\u00fckl\u00fckte b\u00f6yle bir depremle ortaya \u00e7\u0131kmas\u0131, Akdeniz\u2019de levha hareketlerinin \u00e7ok aktif olarak s\u00fcrd\u00fc\u011f\u00fcn\u00fc g\u00f6stermektedir.
