Bu konuda yap\u0131lan giri\u015fimlerin en \u00f6nemlilerinden biri Bilkent \u00dcniversitesinde Ulusal Nanoteknoloji Ara\u015ft\u0131rma Merkezi\u2019nin (UNAM) kurulmas\u0131d\u0131r. Ayr\u0131ca \u00fclkemizde bu alanla ilgili uluslararas\u0131 kongre ve seminerler de d\u00fczenlenmektedir. Bunlara ek olarak 22-23 Kas\u0131m 2007 tarihleri aras\u0131nda \u0130stanbul\u2019da d\u00fczenlenecek olan \u201c\u0130talya Ve T\u00fcrkiye Biyoteknoloji Ve Nanoteknoloji Alanlar\u0131nda \u0130\u015fbirli\u011fi \u0130mkanlar\u0131\u201d konulu seminer ve ikili g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015fmeler kapsam\u0131nda T\u00fcrkiye\u2019deki \u00fcniversite, kamu kurulu\u015flar\u0131 ve \u00f6zel \u015firketlerin \u0130talyan \u015firketlerle ortak \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar yaparak bu alandaki ARGE \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131n h\u0131zland\u0131r\u0131lmas\u0131 da ama\u00e7lanmaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p>Nanoteknolojinin \u00f6nc\u00fcleri olarak nitelendirilen Peter Gr\u00fcnberg ve Albert Fert, sabit disklerin boyutlar\u0131n\u0131n \u00f6nemli \u00f6l\u00e7\u00fcde k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fclt\u00fclmesine ve disk \u00fczerindeki bilgilerin hassas bir \u015fekilde okunabilmesine olanak veren teknolojinin geli\u015ftirilmesi y\u00f6n\u00fcndeki katk\u0131lar\u0131 nedeniyle fizik alan\u0131nda 2007 Nobel \u00f6d\u00fcl\u00fcne lay\u0131k g\u00f6r\u00fcld\u00fcler. Nanoteknoloji alan\u0131ndaki bilgi birikiminin artmas\u0131yla birlikte, baz\u0131 bilimkurgu romanlar\u0131nda konu edilen s\u00fcper g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fc bilgisayarlar\u0131n, insan\u0131 g\u00f6r\u00fcnmez yapan giysilerin, kendini \u00e7o\u011falt\u0131p gerekti\u011finde onarabilen elektronik ayg\u0131tlar\u0131n veya insan dokular\u0131ndaki hasarlar\u0131 ve fizyolojik kusurlar\u0131 ortadan kald\u0131ran mikroskobik robotlar\u0131n da gelecekte sadece hayal \u00fcr\u00fcn\u00fc olarak kalmayabilece\u011fi y\u00f6n\u00fcnde yeni umutlar do\u011fmaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Scientific American dergisinin nanoteknoloji raporu<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Scientific American<\/em> dergisinin Eyl\u00fcl 2007 \u00f6zel say\u0131s\u0131nda nanoteknoloji alan\u0131ndaki geli\u015fmelere yer verildi. Dergide, nanoteknolojinin g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczdeki uygulama alanlar\u0131na ili\u015fkin bilgilerin yan\u0131 s\u0131ra konu hakk\u0131ndaki son geli\u015fmeler ve teknolojinin kullan\u0131m\u0131na ili\u015fkin \u00fcretim a\u015famas\u0131nda kar\u015f\u0131la\u015f\u0131lan sorunlar \u00e7e\u015fitli ba\u015fl\u0131klar alt\u0131nda ele al\u0131n\u0131yor.<\/p>\n<p>Farkl\u0131 alanlar\u0131 kapsayan ba\u015fl\u0131klar\u0131n ilkinde nanoteknoloji konusundaki ayr\u0131nt\u0131l\u0131 bilgi birikiminin hen\u00fcz olu\u015fmaya ba\u015flad\u0131\u011f\u0131 ve bu bilgilerin gelece\u011fin nanoteknolojisi i\u00e7in temel olu\u015fturaca\u011f\u0131na de\u011finiliyor. Nanoteknoloji \u00fcr\u00fcn\u00fc ayg\u0131tlar\u0131n makroskobik nesnelerden k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck ancak molek\u00fcllerden daha b\u00fcy\u00fck olan mezo-\u00f6l\u00e7e\u011fe sahip oldu\u011fu ve bu nesnelerin \u00f6zelliklerinin klasik fizik ve kuantum mekani\u011finin kombinasyonlar\u0131n\u0131 kapsayan yasalarla belirlendi\u011fi belirtiliyor. Ayr\u0131ca m\u00fchendislerin g\u00fcvenilir ve verimli bir \u015fekilde \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan nanoayg\u0131tlar \u00fcretebilmesinin ancak, mezo-\u00f6l\u00e7ekteki karma\u015f\u0131k atom sistemlerine ili\u015fkin etkile\u015fim ve davran\u0131\u015flar\u0131n fizik yasalar\u0131 kapsam\u0131nda tam olarak anla\u015f\u0131lmas\u0131yla m\u00fcmk\u00fcn olabilece\u011fi de vurgulan\u0131yor. Bunlar\u0131n yan\u0131 s\u0131ra, nanoteknolojinin geli\u015fmesinin 100 nm\u2019den daha k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck \u00e7aptaki yap\u0131lar\u0131n verimli bir \u015fekilde \u00fcretilebilmesiyle sa\u011flanabilece\u011fi de belirtiliyor. G\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczde mikro\u00e7iplerin \u00fczerindeki devrelerin olu\u015fturulmas\u0131nda kullan\u0131lan fotolitografi teknolojisiyle nanometre \u00f6l\u00e7ekli yap\u0131lar\u0131n \u00fcretilebilece\u011fi, ancak bunun i\u00e7in gerekli olan modifikasyonlar\u0131n teknik olarak zor ve \u00e7ok pahal\u0131 oldu\u011funa de\u011finiliyor. Nano-\u00fcretim tekniklerinin, bir y\u00fczeye molek\u00fcl k\u00fcmelerinin eklenmesini veya bu molek\u00fcl gruplar\u0131n\u0131n bi\u00e7imlendirilmesini kapsayan yukar\u0131dan-a\u015fa\u011f\u0131 y\u00f6ntemler ve nanoyap\u0131lar\u0131 olu\u015fturmak \u00fczere atom ya da molek\u00fcllerin birle\u015ftirildi\u011fi a\u015fa\u011f\u0131dan-yukar\u0131 y\u00f6ntemler olmak \u00fczere iki temel gruba ayr\u0131labilece\u011fi belirtiliyor.<\/p>\n<p>Dergide ele al\u0131nan di\u011fer bir konu ise molek\u00fcler \u201clego\u201d olarak nitelendirilen ve istenilen \u015fekildeki nano-\u00f6l\u00e7ekli yap\u0131lar\u0131n tasarlanabilmesine olanak sa\u011flayan k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck yap\u0131ta\u015flar\u0131. H\u00fccrelerde \u00e7ok farkl\u0131 biyolojik i\u015flevleri yerine getiren proteinler do\u011fal nano-makineler olarak d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fclebilir. Aminoasit zincirlerinden olu\u015fan bu esnek yap\u0131lar (polipeptidler) \u00e7e\u015fitli katlanmalar yaparak i\u015flevsel bi\u00e7imini kazan\u0131yor. Do\u011fadaki bu nano-makinelerden esinlenen kimyagerler, bis-aminoasit ad\u0131 verilen yeni bir molek\u00fcl kitapl\u0131\u011f\u0131 kurmu\u015flar. Bis-aminoasitlerin legolar gibi farkl\u0131 kombinasyonlarda birbirine eklenmesiyle, istenilen \u015fekillerde tasarlanabilen proteinlere benzer yap\u0131lar (bis-peoptidler) elde ediliyor. Bis-peptidlerin potansiyel kullan\u0131m alanlar\u0131 aras\u0131nda baz\u0131 enzimler, kimyasal sens\u00f6rler ve bilgi depolama ayg\u0131tlar\u0131n\u0131n \u00fcretilmesi gibi \u00e7e\u015fitli uygulamalar yer al\u0131yor.<\/p>\n<p>Bis-aminoaistlerin yan\u0131 s\u0131ra canl\u0131 t\u00fcrlerinin t\u00fcm\u00fcne yak\u0131n bir k\u0131sm\u0131nda kal\u0131tsal madde g\u00f6revini \u00fcstlenen DNA (deoksiribon\u00fckleik asit) molek\u00fcl\u00fc de nano-\u00f6l\u00e7ekli yap\u0131lar\u0131n \u00fcretilmesinde kullan\u0131labilmektedir. DNA zincirlerindeki bazlar\u0131n tamamlay\u0131c\u0131l\u0131k (\u00f6zg\u00fcn e\u015fle\u015fme) \u00f6zelli\u011fi sayesinde DNA zincirlerinin \u00f6nceden programlanan belirli karma\u015f\u0131k \u015fekilleri olu\u015fturabilece\u011fi belirtilmekte. Kristallografi uygulamalar\u0131nda ta\u015f\u0131y\u0131c\u0131 yap\u0131lar olarak i\u015f g\u00f6rebilen \u00f6zel \u015fekilli bu DNA molek\u00fcllerinin ayn\u0131 zamanda molek\u00fcl b\u00fcy\u00fckl\u00fc\u011f\u00fcndeki elektronik ayg\u0131tlar\u0131 da ta\u015f\u0131yabilece\u011fi bildiriliyor.\u00a0 Nano-\u00f6l\u00e7ekli DNA makinelerinin \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmas\u0131nda da DNA molek\u00fcllerinin \u00fc\u00e7 boyutlu yap\u0131s\u0131ndaki de\u011fi\u015fimlerin rol oynayabilece\u011fi vurgulan\u0131yor. \u00dc\u00e7 boyutlu bi\u00e7im de\u011fi\u015fiklikleriyle sa\u011flanan hareketin \u00e7e\u015fitli kimyasallar veya \u00f6zel baz\u0131 DNA dizileri arac\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131yla kontrol edilebilece\u011fi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcl\u00fcyor.<\/p>\n<p>Dergideki ilgi \u00e7ekici di\u011fer bir konu ise canl\u0131 bilgisayarlar. Canl\u0131 h\u00fccrelerin sahip oldu\u011fu do\u011fal biyomolek\u00fcler makinelerde bilginin i\u015flenmesi (yap\u0131ta\u015flar\u0131n\u0131n tan\u0131nmas\u0131, kesme ve biyopolimer molek\u00fcllerin eklenmesi, baz\u0131 molek\u00fcllerin polimerler \u00fczerinde hareket edebilmesi vb.), bir \u00e7e\u015fit ilkel bilgisayar olarak da adland\u0131r\u0131lan Turing makinelerindekine benzer \u015fekilde sa\u011flanmaktad\u0131r. Dergideki makalede, Turing makinesindekine benzer \u015fekilde otomasyonun sa\u011fland\u0131\u011f\u0131, DNA ve enzimlerden yap\u0131lm\u0131\u015f olan bir sistemin hesaplamalar yapabilece\u011fi ve ayn\u0131 zamanda di\u011fer biyomolek\u00fcllerle bilgi al\u0131\u015f veri\u015fini de sa\u011flayabilece\u011fine de\u011finiliyoir. Canl\u0131lar\u0131n yap\u0131ta\u015flar\u0131ndan \u00fcretilen b\u00f6yle bir bilgisayar\u0131n t\u0131bbi ama\u00e7l\u0131 olarak kullan\u0131labilece\u011fi de \u00f6ng\u00f6r\u00fcl\u00fcyor.<\/p>\n<p>Nano-t\u00fcpler ve nano-a\u011flar\u0131n ele al\u0131nd\u0131\u011f\u0131 yaz\u0131da ise karbon nano-t\u00fcplerinden olu\u015fturulan nano-a\u011flar\u0131n elektronik ayg\u0131tlar olarak kullan\u0131labilece\u011fi anlat\u0131l\u0131yor. Bir nano-a\u011f\u0131 olu\u015fturan her bir nano-t\u00fcp\u00fcn, tek bir atom kal\u0131nl\u0131\u011f\u0131ndaki karbon yapra\u011f\u0131ndan olu\u015ftu\u011fu ve grafit ad\u0131 verilen bu yap\u0131n\u0131n yuvarlanmas\u0131yla 1 nanometre \u00e7apl\u0131 silindirlerin elde edildi\u011fi belirtiliyor. Bu silindirlerin \u00e7ap\u0131, insan\u0131n sa\u00e7 telinin \u00e7ap\u0131ndan 50.000 kat daha k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fckt\u00fcr. Elektrik ak\u0131m, birbirine ba\u011fl\u0131 nano-t\u00fcplerden olu\u015fan bu a\u011f\u0131n i\u00e7inde bir elektrottan di\u011ferine aktar\u0131l\u0131r. Yaz\u0131da \u00e7e\u015fitli elektronik i\u015flevlerin bu a\u011flar sayesinde \u00e7ok d\u00fc\u015f\u00fck maliyetlerle \u00fcretilebilece\u011fi vurgulan\u0131yor. Bunlara ek olarak karbon nano-t\u00fcplerin dayan\u0131kl\u0131 olmalar\u0131 bak\u0131m\u0131ndan ta\u015f\u0131nabilir cihazlar\u0131n \u00fcretimi i\u00e7in de uygun nitelikte oldu\u011fu bildiriliyor. \u00d6n\u00fcm\u00fczdeki birka\u00e7 y\u0131l i\u00e7inde karbon nano-a\u011flar\u0131n sens\u00f6rler, g\u00fcne\u015f pilleri ve elektronik ka\u011f\u0131t \u00fcretimi gibi s\u00fcre\u00e7lerde kullan\u0131labilece\u011fine de\u011finiliyor. \u00d6zellikle saydam ve esnek yap\u0131l\u0131 karbon nano-a\u011f\u0131ndan yap\u0131lan elektrotlar, g\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczde g\u00fcne\u015f pillerinde kullan\u0131lan elektrotlardan \u00e7ok daha ucuza mal olacak.<\/p>\n<p>Nanoteknoloji alan\u0131ndaki uygulamalar kapsam\u0131nda plazmonik olarak adland\u0131r\u0131lan teknolojinin ele al\u0131nd\u0131\u011f\u0131 yaz\u0131da, belli ko\u015fullar alt\u0131nda bir \u0131\u015f\u0131k demetinin metal y\u00fczeye \u00e7arpmas\u0131yla olu\u015fturulabilen plazmonlar (elektron yo\u011funluk dalgalar\u0131) arac\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131yla optik sinyaller ve di\u011fer elektromanyetik dalgalar\u0131n \u00e7ok k\u00fc\u00e7\u00fck boyutlardaki kablolar\u0131n i\u00e7ine s\u0131k\u0131\u015ft\u0131r\u0131labildi\u011fi belirtilmi\u015f.
