G\u00fcn\u00fcm\u00fczde halen konu\u015fulan 3000 dilden ise yaln\u0131zca 78 tanesinin yaz\u0131l\u0131 edebiyat\u0131 vard\u0131r. Yaz\u0131n\u0131n kullan\u0131m\u0131 sonucunda, ileti\u015fimde kullan\u0131lan s\u00f6zc\u00fckler, silinip giden i\u015fitsel sinyallerden \u00e7ok, s\u00fcreklilik kazanan nesneler haline gelir. Bu arada konu\u015fma eyleminin ve konu\u015fulan i\u00e7eri\u011fin yaz\u0131 i\u00e7inde maddele\u015ftirilmesi, konu\u015fman\u0131n geriye d\u00f6n\u00fck incelenmesine, tekrardan i\u015flenmesine ve \u00e7e\u015fitli bi\u00e7imlerde yeniden d\u00fczenlenebilmesine olanak tan\u0131r. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Konu\u015fman\u0131n yaz\u0131 yoluyla kaydedilmesi, bireylere s\u00f6zc\u00fckleri a\u00e7\u0131k bir bi\u00e7imde ay\u0131rma, s\u00f6zc\u00fck sistemleri olu\u015fturma ve k\u0131yasa dayal\u0131 ak\u0131l y\u00fcr\u00fctme olana\u011f\u0131 sa\u011flar. Yaz\u0131 yoluyla fikir \u00f6ne s\u00fcren ki\u015fi iddias\u0131n\u0131n sa\u011flaml\u0131\u011f\u0131na delil olarak sa\u011flam tan\u0131kl\u0131klara ya da yaz\u0131l\u0131 onam g\u00f6rm\u00fc\u015f di\u011fer metinlere gereksinim duyar. Bu d\u00f6nemde okula gitmemi\u015f \u00e7ocuklar\u0131n \u00e7ok say\u0131da denizkabu\u011funu kendisinden \u00e7ok daha h\u0131zl\u0131 ve do\u011fru bir \u015fekilde sayabildiklerini ancak \u00e7arpma i\u015flemi s\u00f6z konusu oldu\u011funda ayn\u0131 ba\u015far\u0131y\u0131 g\u00f6steremediklerini g\u00f6zlemler. \u00c7arpma i\u015flemine a\u015fina olduklar\u0131n\u0131, ancak daha karma\u015f\u0131k d\u00f6rt i\u015flem gerektiren haz\u0131r bir \u00e7izelgeyi kafalar\u0131nda olu\u015fturmad\u0131klar\u0131n\u0131 belirtir. Bu kar\u015f\u0131tl\u0131\u011f\u0131n \u00e7\u0131karma ve b\u00f6lme i\u015flemi s\u00f6z konusu oldu\u011funda daha da belirgin hale geldi\u011fini s\u00f6yler. \u00c7\u0131karma i\u015fleminin konu\u015fma ile tasarlanabilir oldu\u011funu, ancak b\u00f6lme i\u015fleminin tamamen bir yaz\u0131 tekni\u011fi bar\u0131nd\u0131rd\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 belirtir. Ancak Goody i\u015flemin g\u00f6reli somutlu\u011fu \u00fczerine ayr\u0131ca vurgu yapar. Goody birisine bir \u015feyi saymas\u0131n\u0131 s\u00f6yledi\u011finde ald\u0131\u011f\u0131 yan\u0131t, \u201cNeyi saymam\u0131 istiyorsunuz?\u201d olmu\u015ftur. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc farkl\u0131 nesneler i\u00e7in farkl\u0131 sayma y\u00f6ntemleri geli\u015ftirilmi\u015ftir. \u0130nekleri saymak, kabuklar\u0131 saymaktan farkl\u0131 bir \u015feyi ifade etmektedir. Okuryazar olmayan toplumlar\u0131n ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirdikleri i\u015flemlerin b\u00fcy\u00fck oranda somut oldu\u011fu izlenmektedir. Goody\u2019nin belirtti\u011fi gibi LoDagaalar hem inekleri hem de kabuklar\u0131 saymak i\u00e7in soyut say\u0131sal sistemlere sahipler, ancak bu soyut kavramlar\u0131 kullanma y\u00f6ntemleri g\u00fcnl\u00fck hayat pratiklerinden kaynaklan\u0131r. R. Luria\u2019n\u0131n <em>Cognitive Development: Its Cultural and Social Foundations<\/em> (Bili\u015fsel Geli\u015fme: K\u00fclt\u00fcrel ve Toplumsal Temelleri, 1976) kitab\u0131ndan bu sav\u0131 destekleyen kan\u0131tlar bulabiliriz. Luria 1931-32 y\u0131llar\u0131nda \u00d6zbekistan ve K\u0131rg\u0131zistan\u2019\u0131n \u00fccra k\u00f6\u015felerinde hi\u00e7 okuma yazma bilmeyen ve biraz okuma yazma bilenler aras\u0131nda bir ara\u015ft\u0131rma yapar. Bu kitap ara\u015ft\u0131rman\u0131n sonlanmas\u0131ndan 42 y\u0131l sonra Rus\u00e7a, bundan iki y\u0131l sonra yani 1976 y\u0131l\u0131nda \u0130ngilizce olarak yay\u0131mlan\u0131r. Carothers taraf\u0131ndan (1958) yap\u0131lan \u00e7al\u0131\u015fman\u0131n sonu\u00e7lar\u0131 da, Luria\u2019n\u0131n sonu\u00e7lar\u0131 ile uyu\u015fmaktad\u0131r. D\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnce s\u00fcrecinin k\u00f6kten de\u011fi\u015fmesine yaln\u0131zca orta derecede okuryazarl\u0131k bile yetmektedir. Luria\u2019n\u0131n, Ong\u2019un kitab\u0131nda yer alan ve a\u015fa\u011f\u0131daki sat\u0131rlarda \u00f6zetlenmeye \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131lan bulgular\u0131 olduk\u00e7a ilgin\u00e7tir: (6)<\/p>\n<p>Okuma yazmas\u0131 olmayan denekler, geometrik \u015fekilleri hi\u00e7bir zaman soyut isimleriyle (daire, kare gibi) tan\u0131mlamam\u0131\u015flar, bunun yerine g\u00f6sterilen \u015fekilleri nesne adlar\u0131 vererek tan\u0131mlam\u0131\u015flard\u0131r. Okuma yazma bilmeyenler, d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncelerini, kendilerine olduk\u00e7a donuk gelen salt mant\u0131k kal\u0131plar\u0131na sokmaya yana\u015fmazlar. Bu nedenle t\u00fcmdengelim y\u00f6ntemlerine ba\u015fvurmazlar. Novaya Zembla kuzeyde ve karl\u0131d\u0131r. Ay\u0131lar ne renk olur?\u201d Bu soruya verilen tipik bir yan\u0131t ise \u015f\u00f6yle: \u201cNe bileyim. Ben hep kara ay\u0131 g\u00f6rd\u00fcm. Ba\u015fka renk ay\u0131 g\u00f6rmedim. Her yerin ay\u0131s\u0131 ba\u015fka t\u00fcrl\u00fcd\u00fcr.\u201d Yan\u0131t kendi i\u00e7inde mant\u0131kl\u0131. Hem bahsedilen yerdeki t\u00fcm ay\u0131lar\u0131n beyaz oldu\u011funu soruyu soran ki\u015finin bildi\u011finden nas\u0131l emin olabilirsiniz ki? Yaz\u0131n\u0131n akrabal\u0131k ili\u015fkilerine de do\u011frudan bir etkisi olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 anla\u015f\u0131lmaktad\u0131r.
